This is absolutely true-there was a sequence for The Return of The King which was storyboarded but never made in which when The One Ring was destroyed Sauron appeared once more and fought Aragorn. Thank God it was rejected.

Actually I think Saruon looks better here than he did in the movie. In the movie he looked absolutely ridiculous with the pin cusion head. Here he seems more like he would have in the books.

Yeahh. In the film, Sauron looks more like Morgoth than Sauron (who is described differently). I cant remember what he was meant to look like.
