Personally, I like Pokemon Puzzle League better than Tetris attack. Granted, it came out like probably 5 years before PPL but it was the one that I grow up with and have fun playing with the whole family.
Although Nintendo created simular puzzle games (i.e. Pokemon Puzzle League), what I will remember most about this game was the adorable intro, with all the other Yoshis singing in unison. It's an outstading puzzle game, and despite the different versions it went, the mechanics have yet to grow sour. However, the singing Yoshis was the whole reason why played this game during my childhood.
For those hoping for an Virtual Console release, let it be known that the game might be under licensing issues. However, in this case, this should be very easy to fix. All Nintendo would need to do is to change the title screen name of both the intro and the name on the Wii Shop Channel, which shouldn't be much work. Nintendo does not have to change anything else. It'll be still be the same game you remember.
Or they can be lazy and give us the Japanese version.
aaaaah....i remember playing this game when i was little with my dad and sister....but i miss it because, since our old tv stopped working, we cant find a tv to hook it up to. i wish i could play all those good old games again...
i was actually really good at this game.. i could beat it on hard even when i was 6, mabye because i started playing it when i was...1 :P ya i know thats young, but my family loooves video games, especially the classics!
No, Yoshi's cookie was an entirely seperate game. Nintendo was apparently planning on having Yoshi symbolize Nintendo's puzzle genre, so he had several puzzle games.
Call me crazy, but I like this soundtrack better than the original Tetris. Not that that's necessarily fair, since the original only had three songs, but still.. :P
I grew up with the SNES and I have to say, newer games are a major disappointment in comparison with the classic NES/SNES gold that used to be released.
Because during the 16bit days, the Genesis and SNES had the greatest fanboys of all time, and this pressured both companies, to do the absolute BEST that they could do, and as a result, both companies made magic. Of course the SNES beat the Genesis hands down, which made the SNES, still to this day, the greatest console of ALL time. No other system can compare, not even the Wii, because the Wii, will NEVER re-release ALL SNES games on Virtual Console. Heck not even a 1/4 of them.
Because SNES is/was the breathing epitome of all things that gaming was & potentuially could be. playabilty, entertainment value, challenge, tune stuck in your head foreverness........ the list goes on
@dude125767 Because back then the population of gamers was much smaller than it was now, and for video game companies to make money they actually had to make good games (story driven, good music, deep characters, good replay value, etc.) or nobody would buy them. Nowadays everyone plays games, and companies know they can just put a label on any piece of crap and pass it off as a game and people will still play it.
The Planet Puzzle League that came out for DS f-ing rules with stylus control, it's never the same game again, but it just doesn't have the personality of this game.Top score on this one is 27000 points, which is pretty pro, but people have apparently gotten 50k+
This game does have the personality...And is the top score really 27000 points on endless?? Because my records around 67000. I think there are people who have gotten 99,999 ( A perfect score ) which is my goal. Oh and the theme at 5:30 is what you hear if you get at least 30000 points on endless.
that's 27,000 points on the 2 minute time trial, not endless :) 99,999 on endless is kind of easy
Apparently there are people who have gotten 50k + on time trial but I'm pretty sure you can only do that with the japanese version which doesn't have the 13 chain cap that the North American version does (eg. you can get up to 18-20 chains, using every block on the screen, our version starts going to X after 13 and you lose the exponential points, at least in the DS you can keep raising the stack)
Oh, time trial, not my forte. My best on that is about 18,000, still pretty good I guess though. Finally got 99,999 on endless, and 999,999 on Planet Puzzle League, YAY!
18000 is pretty good. Planet Puzzle League rocks EXCEPT for the fact that you can only play trash battle online instead of score battle, which is retarded
I would hate to face you in tetris attack o.o

Nintendo, ya better get from your usual mainstream things and give us some new Puzzle League-games again. With fairies, Yoshi's or PKMN's, or none.
