Hambuns - Hope I dont have to say this very often - just put a donation to DEC for the African situation - but hope this money goes to giving Rupert Murdoch an assisted passege to Somalia where he and his CEO can experience directly the same shit his companies have generated elsewhere... and if you like SKY television, just think what this lowlife gets with 100% ownership........
Family Entertainment is in my top 10 albums of all time. In fact, I'd say it is probably my most played album. I still play it at least once a week on average but played it even more even more in the early days - my guess is I must have heard it well over 3,000 times. A timeless classic which I will still be playing in another 40 years' time (if I live to circa 100!).
This album is in my all time top ten 1 Sgt Pepper 2 Electric Ladyland 3 Beggars Banquet 4 Ogdens Nutgone Flake 5 SellOut (The Who) 6 Highway (Free) this one#7
never ever get tired of this gem. you can listen to every 1 of their studio albums and they are all different from the others and all completely original. sadly overlooked in the usa.
Is Hung Up Down the song who's fault it is that I listen to Death/Black/Extreme metal vocals? This sounds like Metal to me! And then you get a beautiful song like Processions! Probably why I like Gothic Metal!
This version doesn't have the wah, wah, guitar at the start; I bought the single version with remix; sounds better. I saw them at the Bickershaw Festival in May 1972: they were AWESOME man, truly AWESOME...
Hey, listen man, I aint being pedantic, just stating a fact. Family actually remixed The Weaver's Answer in 1970 and it was a great job; if you haven't heard it, tough shit. Family made some seriously good music, and felt that a remix two years later sounded better. That's progress; it matters man, it matters...and yeah I enjoy it Buster...
its ok...apart fromj the shit female choir at the end...otherwise its brilliant...but it was the start of the " lets get these hippy bastards out o the frame and sell the music to the plebs" thing..and its carried on to this day
I am looking for ages for this version with the wah wha guitar I own on a single in bad condition. Do you know if it has been re-release on CD? All the CD versions I own (about 2 or 3) are the LP short intro version. Thanks for your reply.
Fucking thanks for How the Hi!!!!!!! Love it! Great memories (saw them in this period) damn I got old,Entertainment was one of my favorite albums...I still have the poster. Thanks

Fantastic band, I adore this album, it's up there with John Barleycorn Must Die and Midnight Mushrumps as seminal British Psych Folk.

Since no one is catching on yet?....Why I don't fucking know?...They're missing out on one of the best bands that existed.

Good ole John Peel played the whole album 2 weeks in a row.....the remix is ok but it was a record company thing ......

It doesnt really matter about the version - it matters about the music - and this band gave us some seriously good music - so enjoy
