Hair Straightening using Curlers ~ My first try!!

my hair is really curly and very long. Every time I try to straighten it, it gets fuzzy looking in the back. For some reason, I can only get the front to cooperate. I have always been afraid to do a chemical treatment. I wonder if I can get gian hot curlers and that would work. Also I saw another video where a lady used an oil based gel before the set and said it really helps lay it down. Thanks for the video. I am going to try it. I dont blow dry my hair. Will it stay straight in humidity?

Velcro rollers work really well on dry hair. You get fullness without much effort and it also leaves your hair smoother. Just put them in for 15 minutes and if you hair is short like mine you do not need to use pins. I have been using rollers for years.

shut up the bigger the curler the losser the curl so if you use super big curlers your hair goes completely straight.

i did this for years. from wet, curl in big curlers and sit under a table top dryer for an hour and it will be big curls that straighten easier. you can buy a table top hair dryer with a hood on amazon.

Your hair looks absolutely amazing here. If you want to avoid using heat to get it straighter, i agree with marlve about the hair wrapping technique, check out my page and you will see how long and curly my hair is. I have recently taken to wrapping. it takes some practice but so does learning to straighten your hair.

Your hair looks really pretty. You should wrap your hair so that it's straight instead of flat-ironing it. They have a lot of videos here on wrapping your hair . You could also sit under a hair dryer and let the hair with the curlers dry completely and then do the wrap.

This turned out GORGEOUS!..Im going to get me some of them curlers and try this,lol..I've used them before but they kept fallin out when I tried it, silly me It never dawned on me to try it with bobby pins, lol which I didn't have at the time. but thnks for the tut it inspired me. your little one sounds so precious, I have 3 kids under the age of 10. lol.

Thank you!! Yes, you should try it. Your hair is straight (unless that is ironed hair we see), but you would not believe the body these will give your hair. I love straight hair and this gives a straight effect without the board flat look that a flat iron gives. Although I do like that look as well :o). I've used them 4 times now and I really love them!

Thank you very much! If your like me, have a spray bottle handy to rewet as you get towards the end. It took me so long the first time to roll it up some of my hair was already drying, lol. It just gets easier with practice though and I'm LOVING the look they give.  Thanks for watching!

Thanks honey! I'm going to try rolling under like you did instead of sideways on the sides tomorrow. That may help the curl up on the ends. I think once my hair grows out more it will have more weight to help it behave :o). Just need a little perfecting for my mane!! Yes, my hair is SOOO thick.
