  • Excellent video, nice philosophy on not shooting them too. I'm a BASC member who shoots Grey's in Wales... if you ever fancy charging for a flight, let me know..

  • Nice amount of geese, good to see someone who respects their game, if I was there, | would of been blazing away at them, cant wait for the 1st of september.. Hoping to get my 1st goose this upcoming season!

  • sorry mate should have said it better did you manage to shoot any i agree we in north east lincs only see a few of these birds a season so it is nice to sit back and enjoy somtimes when i go out wildfowling i dont shoot a thing it just nice to be able to sit on the marsh in the dark and listen and watch the world go by

  • No problem; yes, after these lifted we mopped up 3 or 4 out of singles and pairs that came through during the following hour or so.

A memorable flight all in all.

  • why did you not shoot any

  • If you shoot into a skein of 10,000 birds, you scare 10,00 birds. These were regularly coming to this marsh to rest - you do not want to disturb a refuge. It is better to pick off smaller skeins and pairs, that way the geese are more likely to stay there for future outings. Wildfowling is not a numbers game; you need to know when to shoot and when to exercise restraint, perhaps for future gain.

In any event, you don't see this every day; it's nice to sit back and enjoy it sometimes

  • i like it a lot
