They mean it is not the car everyone would want to have or buy. When the woman says "that's the point" she says that they were trying to be unique rather than practical when they built the Prowler.

@Lottech96 it means it was a "love it or hate it" design. Some people loved it's style and uniqueness, others did not. Those who liked it, bought it.

Just look to the Grand Cherokee at the beggining: interior, wheels and badges were from a 93-95 model, 97 had some updates.
