Your frontosa looks beautiful. How is it getting along in your tank? I have a 65 gallon with severums and blood red parrot. I'm wondering if i can add a frontosa in it.
@africancichlidman No, Frontosa need to be kept in a group of 6 or more. A fully grown Frontosa will be a good 12" so you really want a big tank to accomodate them, ideally around the 125 gallon mark for adult fish, but you could get away with a 55gal for juveniles.
Mixing Tanganyikan and Malawi cichlids can ge great, as this video shows. Your cobalt zebra is as good as they get. If you like frontosas and have a smaller tank, try N. tretacephalus.
at a pet store close to me they got a 400 gallon "pond" with a frontosa, 3 oscars, some convicts, a jack dempsey, and some other african cichlids, and they all get along just fine...everyone seems to just co-exist
very nice tank especially that frontosa man i wish i had one and dont care if anyone says hes not happy he looks very happy and very healthy...i asked the guy at the pet store if frontosas can live with other fish and he said they can live with other cichlids no matter what kind....very nice display and tank...wish i had one like that
I think people just need to know about the African Cichlids I have started a tank added about 10 Fish (90gal) used prime to hurry the cycling and had no deaths
I dont reccomend it but as long as you stay on top of your PH/Nitrate/Nitrite/Ammonia Levels the only thing you need to worry about is aggression I have 35 fish in my tank now and it wasnt cycled first
hey nice fish...what is the name of the fish at the start of the video, its like a faint blue colour with the three spots on its bottom fin...i have one and i've been trying to find out what its called...please let me know what is thanx
My goodness please tell me that gorgeous frontosa is still alive!!

The only death i have had was because the Pet Store employee put 2 agressive fish in the same bag 1 was pretty much dead before he got in the tank

i never cycled my tanks either. some people make it a big deal but both my tanks were just water + fish.
i had ammonia problems later when i took out my filter and the beneficial bacteria died out. my fish were breathing so heavily.

can anyone here tell me if a cherry stand with cabnits and canopy for $400 (Canadian) tax included is a good buy?
fishbreeder87 3 years ago
i can get a 240 gallon tank + stand for $900 US dollars. seems like a good deal but it also depends on what size stand it is
