A robotic pet might be cool for old people in nursing homes who can't physically care for a pet but I'd like to see something done for the real pets who are in our shelters or living on our streets first. What massively freaked me out was when there was suddenly a shot of the back of it's head near the end and suddenly, that was WRONG. Bad and wrong. I'd completely fallen for the emotional tricks and believed in this cute cuddly creature - and now there were cables hooking it up to motors - ugh!

i got a question. when the robot gets artificial intelligence, how will it know what a mad face looks like? for instance, when the robot gets mad(theoretically speaking) how will it know what face to give us? in the beginning did human beings learn the facial expression of anger or did it come naturally? i heard when we give a smile, endorphins are release, making us feel better, how will that work with a robot? cause it cant feel

@JUKIO01 facial expressions are one of the few programmed behaviors in people and they have been shown over and over again to be pretty consistent across cultures (at least for basic emotions). (remember this says nothing about what makes us happy which is different across cultures...just what we do when we are happy).

So how will robots know how to give a mad face...the same way humans do by programing it directly. And how will robots know how to read a mad face...by learning
