April Wine was/is WAY better than Survivor who without the Rocky movies would never have made it. April Wine is a rockin band, saw them several times live and they were always killer...Survivor are wimps.

As a guitarist, April Wine was one of my biggest influences and at 45 years old...they still are.

There was so much depth and feeling in their lyrics and the guitars just gave the lyrics drive and passion.

April Wine in my opion was as good or better than any band out there between 1980 and 1990. Thay never got the props thay desirved in the US.

They played this when I saw 'em in the summer, this ought to be my favourite performed considering the upbeat pace and the crowd upfront all swaying, bobbing their heads, tapping their feet and singing along. They sounded almost identical to this studio version, amazing.

@deep April Wine was my first concert in Baton Rouge,LA. Back in the day they got good airplay but they were faded out. Still,like ZZ Top- they just play on- and on,and on,and on! Jerry Mercer,the drummer just finally retired- he turned 70. but the band still tours. For any band to stay together and keep playing that long really inspires me. I hear that the Survivor guy still performs,but without the band. Chicago group,right? Peace, -g

These guys were kind of Canada`s version of Survivor in my opinion.

Perhaps,except I don't think that the Survivor guys were even born yet(A W was formed in 1969-Wikipedia) and Survivor was kinduv a one-hit wonder.

Maybe it should be more the other way around?

I would agree April Wine was a better band technically but, As a Canadian band never saw the fruits of their labor as American bands do, Had they broke the American market they would have been huge.
