  • what kind of treats do u use?

  • My rats won't eat outside there cage how do i start that?

  • Your rat is cute :)

  • I've done this with my rat for about 30 minutes but all she just waits until my hand comes back around and then tackles my hand!!

  • I tried teaching my rat spin and not even a quarter of the way into the turn he stops and looks at me. its so cute, but yet he can do other tricks like stand, paw, and only holding up one paw. I'm even trying to teach him the difference between left and right, and other complex tricks. he is doing fine with them but will just not learn spin its so cute and funny. :)

  • my mom said i can get pet rats because i have been doing well in school...so excited!!!

  • @m1i2r3i4a5m6wolpert You need to get two! not just one(:!!!

  • @DemonBunnie143 yea i know i said "my mom said i can get pet ratS..." (emphasis on the 'S' in ratS) :)

  • @m1i2r3i4a5m6wolpert Tip: rats are insectivores, not omnivores, they have no canines and can not digest meat fats. insectivores just automtically get thrown in with omnivores but they are two different things. rats can eat fish and bugs, but no meats like chicken and beef. eatting it causes a 90% increased chance of tumors and cancer. all my rats are vegens (minus having yogurt) and my 16 month old male acts like he's only about 3-5 months, which for rats is a big difference.

  • That is so darling! <3 I am getting rats when I get accepted to nursing school, so I can have some friends to keep my spirits up for those three years. Rats are wonderful.

  • I don't have rats anymore, but maybe I could teach my chinchilla this?

  • My rat wouldn't eat unless in his cage too but eventually he became more comfortable outside of the cage now he will eat anywhere

  • how Did you get him to learn that ? although my Rat is tame (most the time ) he woe take food out your hand outside the cage ?x

  • What should i teach first ,this or how to walk on back legs????

  • Lol! My rat is a fast learner.....or she loves treats! After the 3rd time she started randomly spinning without me telling her to but now she does it on comand!:)

  • @1emi1mag I think it has got a tumor. Unfortunately rats get tumors alot.

  • @TheRealLewisMassi

    ummm.......thats a boy rat.

  • my rat has a big bump on the side she wasnt born like that but i think its a tumer

  • Awwwwww, sooo cute!!! Going to train my rat

  • @QuestenInghram wtf? what are u saying

  • this is awesome :) my rats arent so hmmm...clever, i think:D it may be difficult to teach them that trick:/

  • @QuestenInghram yeah i know but look at your last comment you said rats can be trained way better than rats

  • @QuestenInghram ha, doesnt make sense

  • Your rats are clever ! My mice is kinda ..... stupid.

  • Wow thanks now i just have to find something my rat likes when ever i try this with the normal treats he just looks up at me like what the hell is wrong with you!

  • you have such beautiful rats :)

  • These are cool but i have some in my back yard dat eat my trash.dirty fuckers

  • cute :) but do they bite?

  • @Carolchew96 Only if you make 'em mad. Rats were my first pets and they are AWESOME! I highly recommend a rat for a first timer pet!

  • nice :)

  • lol thats awesome the music goes along too

  • i'd like to get a pet rat but i hate their big nuts hanging >.< how do the females look?

  • @cmcgr0n female rats...well, simply don't have big nuts.lol.

  • @cmcgr0n - really pretty. If that's all that's putting you off, get yourself two girl rats.

  • @cmcgr0n Why do you look at the rat's nuts? That's WEIRD

  • @cmcgr0n They're smaller, more hyper (sometimes more skittish), they don't have those giant ballsacks and they're very playful. Get 2.

  • hey um what are you feeding him.and my rat wont drink water its one of those things where they use the tounge to release the water she eats cuase i see lil nibbles on the food but she doesnt drink or at least when im around im worried.

  • lol my rat does not do anything at step 1 XD

  • @qwrasw haha also with me

  • This is operant conditions and the rat is being shaped to the desired behavior.

  • OMG that is awesome!

  • My girl is way too easily distracted for this lol. She spun like half way then was like "omg that thing is shiny!"

  • So frickin cute :)

  • The songs in your videos always fit perfectly. xD

  • i have two rats and i have only got one of my rats spinning and i have never try it with my older one and i had them both on my bedroom floor and i was making the one that cud spin, spin and then after so long my other just did it i was like WOW ahahahah XD

  • It is wonderful!!

  • I LOVE YOU lol thanks this is so helpful

  • I'm trying that out, awesome trick! :O

  • I think I'll try this with my fat rat. She would do anything for food lol. My little skinny rat is only interested in being stroked till she falls asleep :)

I wonder how they get on so well even though they're opposites :)

  • I hope my hamster can learn this! I think it will be fun! Thanks I am going to try it, with cheerios and sunflower seeds! (His favorite) Cute rat though eh!

  • does it works with a hamster ?

  • what kind of treat did you use? my rat isnt very motivated by the treats we use.

  • 0:19 It's soooooooooooo cute !!!!!! :D

  • Haha, your rats are getting dizzy!

    Very nice video, original.

  • i've got a blonde rat. it won't do it

  • my rats dont understand this trick:s

they don't want to follow the treat.

very weird but i stay trying

  • Very cute! Well done rat :D

  • sooo cute

  • You have lovely little rats.

I can't understand how someone can be afraid of rats and mice, they have such cute faces. :)

  • @RottenRroses Lol I'm with you on that. But then again I try not to make fun of people for it since I myself am terrified of bugs. It's not even embarassing.

  • Love it! taught my rat Dora to do it to. She surprised me one day when I wouldnt give her my food and she did her spin with out the command. Just goes to show how smart rats are. She got her treat

  • Love it! taught my rat Dora to do it to. She surprised me one day when I wouldnt give her my food and she did her spin with out the command. Just goes to show how smart rats are

  • very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now to teach it to kill.

    Just kidding ;)

I can't wait to get my two.

  • i'm dizzy after watching this XD

  • lovely coats on them :) I have a mismarked hoodie and an agouti berkshire (both dumbos)

  • I have a question:

Could I train a hamster to do this by voice command? If not, how about a motion?

  • Soooooooooo cute!!! Ratties rule!!! :D

  • One person was so dizzy, they accidentally clicked dislike.

  • dude i want your rat i havnt got one but im trying to get my mum and dad to get me one for my birthday

  • Rice crispies are good treats. Mine love them and they are very low fat so you are not as likely to over treat with them as fast.

  • you have very beautiful rats, sooo cute !

  • nice huskies <3 are they still around ?

  • amazinnngggg

  • @egcloveswebkinz well then your doing just fine. ^^

  • @egcloveswebkinz try to let her get use to the cage first. you do not want to mess with her once you get her. Since she is not new to her surrondings yet, she might bite you because she is afraid. Let her be for at least a week or so. Now females are generally more scared then males. so it might take longer for her to get use to her. Try by feeding her by your hands with treats. she might get use to your hand and you as well. If u wanna ask more message me.

  • What type of treats are thoes?

  • cute rat

  • are those husky rats?

  • What do you use for treats?

  • ^.^ my to (food-adicted)Rats are to lazy for this

  • @Darkmausi

haha^^ only one of my rat want to learn something..the other are to lazy :D

  • Do rats make better pets then cats? My cat is so boring and all she ever does is hiss.

  • @wolfluver20 I like both, though rats have just as much(sometimes better) personality. They're lower maintenance. If you get a "well bred" one from a decent pet shop, they're never hostile or bad tempered like cats.In fact, they're more like friendly dogs, without the walking and barking.

  • I used this video to teach one of my girls, she's getting it (slowlyxD)

but this vid was VERY helpful :)

  • @KiubiJoe why would you teach your daughter how to spin

    thats just plain weird

  • Kool

  • this just shows how intelligent fancy rats are.

  • I figured I wanted to teach one of my rat this trick, until I realized that I first have to teach him to get comfortable on a bigger surface, like my desk... Until he gets more used to it, I decided to teach my cat the same trick, just to see if a cat is capable of learning this as well :) I have high hopes for him, although cats aren't quite as intelligent as rats, I know he will do a lot to get a nice treat ;)

  • Wow! I love rats. I think they are veri intelligent.

:D Even my nickname means "Iamrat" in spanish...

    Greetings from Spain. ;-)

  • hahaha....cute! Good 2

  • Hi brother needs to chat a, Asian women busizz4me.info

  • my rat can do this wery wel!!!

  • thnxs they r doing pretty well know wif the noodles thnxs soooo much

  • oh and don't do hand movement too. I just show the treat and hide it in my fist, my hand isn't closed and hes already spining his arse off >.< oh and the clicker realy helps. you can see hes making the connection better o.o just click when you give the treat youll see it through his reaction. Now I'm gona teach him to walk i guess. The possibilities are endless.

  • wahahah Hey i didn't bother to train my rats because i thought i would have to invest like a month to teach one a trick. LOL i was bored and started showing my most sociable rat Jack the spin trick. Its been a week now i trained him about twice a day for 5 to 10 minutes. And today he started spining even before i say ''spin'' LOL Hes realy got it down. As long as he isn't bored he'll do it over and over. My other rats are doing good too but i havent trained them much yet bout twice lol. smartass

  • OMG how cute i wanna theach that to them to!!

  • My rat doesnt do that she'll just get distracted

  • what treat do u use cuz my rats have short attention spands and the kinda half twirl and then run off any advice on how to keep them interested

  • @jumpingllamas1 well idk but young rats are realy hyper and hard to keep their attention. Just grab something they realy like i can't see how they couldn't bother. Like noodles coockie pieces (no chocolate and small pieces) and heres a trick not to over feed, either do more with one treat OR just simply pick the treats back up fom their cage >.< they're almost blind they wont notice.

  • Looks like there upsessed with spinning xD I deffenetly going to train my own rats :D It also looks very cute :D

  • my boys go so crazy when they realise that I have a treat in my hand that they just run to my fingers and hang on to them for dear life :D so our spins this far have been quite a failiure because when I'm trying to make them walk a sircle, they grab my hand and get dragged behind it. they have no patience what so ever ^^ Walking seems to be easy and fun for them though. and they have learned to come to me when called <3 Whiskey is so sweet!

  • what kind of treat you use? i just got my first pet rat and i want to learn him stuff...oh also can i learn to him anything about toilet?

  • @peforthewin put a litter box in its cage. All you have to do is pick up his poop and put it in it till he gets the picture. Rats have a designated area for pooping. Usualy the one oposite to the food. So put the pan there. Its kinda easy. GL

  • That's the cutest thing I've ever seen!! Neither of my two boys seem to really to have a treat that they really go for when out in the room though. Any suggestions?

  • @ineedacat9 rats will always love pastas. No spagetti sauce, tomato sauce is too acid for their little stomachs.

  • What treats do you use?

  • @ies213 lol mice are cuter, but not as smart.

  • im totally going to learn that to my rats :D

  • Real cool! I wonder what else you can train them to do?

  • @SkyOne1111 Anything. Check out he affrican pouched rat. They use them to sniff mines. All they did is use treat and clicker. When the rat came close to TNT or explosive materials they gave them a treat and *click*. Very easy. When the rat does what you want ''treat-*click*'' thats it. they learn fairly quikly.

  • im getting one today, and his name is hades.

  • Nice :)

  • this is wonderful! We have five rats and can't wait to teach them this!

  • My rat wanker was Turing to attack the rat on the screen

  • My rat fallows the treat , I have fallow the 4 steps but my rat can't do that...:( its so dificult ... we have worked 2 days in this... but there are not results

  • does it work on every rat answer quick

  • ihelpable

get 2 girls because the males would be more likely to fight

  • my rats would bite my finger if I tried this lol

  • SUCH BEAUTIFUL HUSKY RATS!!!

  • Should I get a 2 male, or 2 female?

  • @ihelpable any, the females wuld be more active while the males are lazy craving for food all the time. i mean, when it coms to training, either sexes are good to train. females are the common ones but whatever you think. you you terribly hate poo alot!! then best if you get femalez ;D

  • what do you use for treats?

  • I actually clapped!

  • does them have to be young ones or do the olds learn aswell?

  • i had two rats once, shmelvin and jebus... they were fun

  • Just too cute!

And for someone who's been training the same dog for twelve years...Wonderful. XD

  • my dad bought a rat 2 days ago and woke me up and put it on me, lol, how cute, i'm naming him Riki. btw, he's like 4 weeks old, i don't think he will grow, he's tiny, not that tiny.. so yeah, can u tell me if he will grow or just stay liek those rats that people feed to snakes, i don't want that to happen lol. btw i got a kitten and a dog :P so idk is they'll do anything, but they intended to bite him, but failed. so when i sleep i lock the door to stop any other pets from comming, peace :D

  • Those are gorgeous rats. Are they a particular breed? Also, what voice command would you personally use that might work? I have a couple girls who are pretty smart. I think a nugget of bleu cheese would train them pretty fast!

  • what gorgeous husky rats. We don't have that varigation here. But i would love to try this with my boys

  • Pretty ballerina rats! xD

  • getting my first rat today i need to know whawt kind? theres small medium and large

  • aw, it's funny when the second rat comes like "what? whats happening o.o? i wanna treat too ;[" bless them :D

  • Give me the damn treat!

  • I've been trying to teach my rat to do this, sometimes it takes him a little while but a couple times now he's automatically spun without me even saying anything while I'm getting the treat from it's bag lol!

  • those rats are adorable :) and so smart ! your a great rat owner and it looks liek you really love your rats

  • Very attractive boys you have there. I have two male Dumbo rats. Oh man they're crazy. Does the trick keep them entertained?

  • I love all your videos!

I bought my 2 female rats in April 2010 (10th April to be precise) and they were pretty young compared to the rats at the other pet shops.

When would be a good time to teach them?

    Thanks :) -Amy

  • @AmyLouProductions The younger they are the easier it will be to teach them ^.^

  • i do like rats but i own a snake dont want em both tbh

  • aww i can't wait to teach this to Max :)

  • wonderful X3 i'll try it =3

  • Cool rat , very smart

  • my rat wont spin :(

  • my rats have no attention on treats outside the cage :( how can i make them eat outside the cage?

  • i like the song choice xD

  • Why is it that i'm not scared of pet rats, just stray ones...? O_O

  • This video really helped me and the rats!I have three. They picked up on it in less then 5 days!THANX!

  • haha cool trick, but only one of my rats will eat out of his cage, too bad! Oh, and what kind of rats are yours? they are so cute and big, too!

  • Ill try this!

  • My ratties are about 8 months old, is it too late to start teaching them tricks, or can I still try? (:

  • whats wrong with that things ass

  • @VertSk8er12 its their testicals XD

  • What do u do if your rat doesnt like treats outside of the cage?

  • @TheKatieAndMandyShow Thats very odd... Have you just gotten it? If it dosen't like treats outside the cage, try a nice scratch on the head or a new toy...

  • @CatMaster87932 No I have had her for a while she is just really hyper and doesnt want to stop moving when she is out of the cage

  • Lol sometimes my rats just spin for no reason I think they think I'll give them a treat

  • Kooool!!! One of mine of mine gets confused at step three , But the rest are dancers now !!! They do it in line !!! It's so cute!!

    THX
