Most super GMs (Ashleys rated about 2500+ so he's strong but not out there) want a nice fee to appear... so Gata Kamsky's out.

Hmm... Maurice Ashley is one of the most active voices in chess, has annotated on ESPN, is American, and has simple puzzle he has invented that can be solved in a 5 minute block.

I actually have one of his puzzle books - it's awesome. I didn't really know that much about chess...but it's fun.
