Oh dear. Don't be taken in by all the spin...low interest rates fueled a house price explosion which forced the govt to double rates..People who believed the stable economy spiel are now finding themselves in trouble...How on earth the Govt reckons inflation is at 2.3% is beyond me. Most think tanks reckon about 7-8% is more accurate thus the public sector are rejecting pay offers of 2%..We are going into choppy seas...and no it isn't good new

Sad that the Torys would stoop so low. Of course it is easy to critise when your the oppisition, but I recall life under Thatcher and Major and it was no bed of roses either. Brown is a least a decent man where as the Torys are run by a bunch of Eton schoolboys who care only about how much money they can screw out of the rest of us. And exactly where were you during the Tory sleaze era ? I still recall the time when I was unemployed that Thatcher gave us the princely raise of 1p per week. How about the years of the stop go economy or us falling to the 18th economy in the world.

Under Labour prehaps things have not been perfect but I have been employed for all of the last ten years We have had ten years of Labour after a century of Decline under the Tories and our economy is doing quite well thanks.

Rubbish .1979 Healy had to go to the IMF for Loans to suport the UK economy thanks to the socialist mismanagement of the Callaghan labour govmnt..Thatcher was a breath of fesh air she smashed the union stronghld on the country,privatised bankrupt state controlled ndustries.The individual became more important than the state again and most imortantly she made sure old style socialism woiuld not wreck peoples lives agaim as it had in the seventies under thatcher my life was transformed
