Hi, do you have any detailed info for replacing the power volume flex cable? Video just says remove a few screws, but there is a little more to it then that! main concern how to safely remove the cable from each connection port. Power button end looks hard to get at, and at the other end it looks like black tape covering connection where it attached to board. Really uncertain, and would like a little clarity before I destroy things. any info would be greatly appreciated!
@RepairsUniverse I think it may be a faulty part as even when there is no presuare on the button (when i remove it from the ipad housing) its still goes insane.
Hi, i replaced my power fkex and everything is funcional, however, it keeps locking and unlcoking it self and going to the 'slide to unlock' screen. I reomved the to power button screw incase the button was squashing the little clicker on the flex cabwle, but even with this release it is still going mad. Sometimes,m the ipad will nit do it fir an hour or so and next it will do it none stop for an hour. Any help would be appreciated
@Tomn0lan That sounds very odd. It does sound like pressure is being applied to the power button, depending on how the iPad is being held, etc. I would suggest re-adjusting the power flex cable and loosen the screws in the area a bit. This should release the pressure and resolve the issue.
Help me out guys. I bought the ipad tool and volume button replacement kit. My ipad 2 has a small dent where the volume button is. The volume icon stays on because of the dent pushing in. Do I just need to take the glass off and then push the dent out? Any help would suffice. TIA
Also Apple said because of the dent it was considered physical damage meaning the my warranty doesn't mean crap and they wanted $280 to replace with another ipad 2. Most likely a refurb.
hello i have a ipad 2 with a weaker wifi range then normal, should i buy a wifi flex cable and try replacing it with a new one, or could it be a different problem?
@tracedotz That could be the issue. May be worth a try. Sometimes these issues are software involved as well. However a faulty or partially faulty WiFi flex can cause this and in our experience is your best shot at resolving the issue.
@Nick45211 The flex cable should not cause any issue such as this. Sounds more likely a connection issue with the LCD screen. I would suggest checking this connection and the LCD flex to be sure no damage has occurred to it.
okay so i had to replace the digitizer and power/volume flex cable. i got my new digitizer in the mail but have not recieved my power/volume flex cable. i removed the flex cable but still tried to see if the new digitizer works. so i plugged the lcd and the digitizer in and the LCD screen would not turn on. do i need to plug the new power/volume flex cable to see the lcd screen to turn on? i can plug the charge cable in and hear the charging noise! PLEASE HELP i just want to know if there is an
After I installed the wifi antenna/flex cable I do not have any type of wireless connection. I have reset all settings. Is there a special procedure in order for the wireless adapter to function again?
It would super duper awesome if you guys could make a detailed video on how to replace the power flex cable. Or is it really as easy as pulling out a few screws and swapping the cable out? I can't find any documentation on how to go about doing that?
@RepairsUniverse Ok, I got the power flex cable in place and the wifi antenna which I also broke while removing the digitizer screen. After re-attaching the wifi antenna (which works) to the logic board I had to remove the speaker connector from the logic board, how do I get it back on and make it connect. After putting it all back together, I had no sound on the iPad. :( Please help! Can I send in to you guys and pay you? I couldn't find any info on the speaker assembly on the site. Thanks!
@simeonberns It is a simple push connector. Align the pins correctly and it should snap into place. I have a feeling it is just a speaker connection issue causing no sound. Replacements are available on the site, in case the speakers are found to be damaged. Sadly we are not accepting repairs currently as many of our techs are going away for holiday.
@kiltl1fter No problem at all. We suggest the adhesive available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. It has never let us down for any gluing needs for over 4 years. However, nearly any adhesive or glue (small amount) will work.

@EXOTICLEX Yes, that would be suggested. Should be able to kick out dents fairly easily in that area.

@stick00it No procedure is necessary. Possibly a bad connection? I would double check the connection and also check for any damage to the flex cable.

@simeonberns Luckily it really is easy. Just a simple swap. Remove the screws and anything covering the cables and swap.
RepairsUniverse 3 months ago
@RepairsUniverse Alright, so the camera and battery can stay put? Just need to peel the tape and get it off the daughter board?
simeonberns 3 months ago
@simeonberns Correct, everything should be able to stay put. Remove the power cable and you can just do a straight swap.
