Two things:

1) Bold natures decrease Attack too. I know. I caught a Scyther on Platinum once with the intent of using it on my team. But when I go onto Smogon to check the nature, I find out I'm LOSING ATTACK!!! URRRGH!

Haydunn, this is pretty important cos you kept saying "Oh, I won't use Tri Attack here cos he is special bulky", it's not quite right... :P

In Generation 3, the Physical/Special attack differences weren't made yet.

It was instead based on TYPE.

All Normal Attacks are physical .. even like, Hyper Beam and Tri-Attack (Work off Attack)

All Water/Grass/Fire attacks work on Special Attack and are special... (Even Waterfall etc etc.)
