How come foreign countries have the london version of the cats costumes but in america, we're stuck with the stupid broadway versions?

I find it stupid that Broadway changes all the black and white cats to brown and gold/white cats even though the song clearly states that "Jellicle Cats are black and white."

I agree. They have so many brown and white cats in the American tour they all look the same. Like Plato for instance; they made him gold with black splotches. Why couldn't they keep him white with black? Makes no sense.

@ReconditeDusk I think some productions all like to put their own spin on Cats...the Australian cast was different to this one...Alonzo was a goldish colour, Plato was silver, Tumble and Pounce were silver and brownish...Sillabub (who does Jemima's role, there was a Jemima in the ensemble though) was gray...Coricopat and Tantomile had wigs that stuck out, not the flat one with rolled ears...and there are a few other changes as well...it makes the production unique
