In the middle tree once you get to the higher tiers you can reduce the focus cost of blade storm by 2 and also reduce its cool down by 3 secounds. to me middle tree is the best plus you get the damage bonus from ataru form.
Ive never understood why people run around so much in these Tab Targeting heat seeking spell type games... no matter what the spell/ability is gonna hit you not matter how much you run from side to side like your having finger seizures. I noticed you didn't use any of your centering points with your zen. Personally i think its great because you get 6 free slash hits if you're in shi-chii form, but i only use it PvE. Is it more of a waste in PvP?

@armagedoc66 if you don't like your Vanguard at low-mid levels, you won't like it at upper levels. The base mechanics don't change, we just get more abilities over time.
So another class is probably better for you. Guardian, Sentinel, or Shadow.

I need help, Im debating if i should delete my jedi shadow and make a jedi sentinel, but i saw how you have to build up focus to use most attacks, and i was wondering if it was kinda annoying building your focus up to do attacks?
@kamakazy122 It's not too bad really. You do, however, need to get your thing right so you can manage your focus. You should never use a "generate focus" attack if you are full on focus, but you should also never get blade storm out of CD and not having enough focus.
Frankly, Sentinel is a pain in the early levels -- in pvp. You got nothing, and I mean nothing. Getting kited forever, and stunned. I hear it gets better though, at 40+.

@KonzoleKing It really depents on which type of video game do you prefer. This is so epic game IMPO. Every game "sucks" because no game is prefect. Try it before you make your own picture about this game
"Global Cooldown" I don't think this means what you think it means :p Global cooldown is the 1 second cooldown in most MMOs that is applied to ALL abilities after an ability is used. Some special abilites are not affected by and do not trigger the global cooldown (ie Overpower when the enemy dodges an attack, etc). The word you're looking for is simply cooldown.
Thats unfortunate for you, i love everything about this game. Played a hell lot of mmos but nothing compares to this. Good luck finding an alternative
Sadly, I do not enjoy this game... I love star wars, I think its great.. but this game frustrates me, annoys me and confuses me with it's buggy gameplay, clumsy animations and imbalanced pvp... I like the story quest alot, but hate all the walking.. I used to play WoW and in my opinion WoW is better, but why am I complaining? Im playing a marauder right now on swtor as well. Its challenging pvp. Taugrim wat are your thoughts on character responsiveness, the animation, and overall gameplay, when you are pvping. Coming from wow as an avid pvper, i found myself frustrated at times because of issues with the animation and character response.
@lilkhmer5 also 90% of the pvpers are range classes and inquisitors now. I never see any marauders anymore. What are your thoughts on that as well and the future of marauders for pvp. Hopefully they get a buff or the amount of cc's gets nerfed. I find myself having trouble sticking to targets with the ammount of cc that is thrown at me.
@lilkhmer5 the animations took some time to get used to. Just remember you don't have to wait for animations to complete, the damage will land and you can move on to your next target
@taugrimtaugrim onto that, what are your thoughts on rage marauder atm? Im not sure what spec i will be using for pvp. I'm carnage atm, but i heard rage hits harder and annihilation has better survivability because of the heals.
@lilkhmer5 Carnage rocks once you hit 20 and can pick up the 15% passive run buff. Before that Rage is a good choice. The proc-healing for Annihilation is interesting and you get a lot of DoTs, but the self-healing won't keep you up under sustained focus fire.
@juliancomputerfreak He's a Sentinel, not marauder. The throw he has is a short ranged debuffing version of what we (yes, I am a guardian too) get at lv 36. Sentinels will never get the long ranged version sadly enough.
need help deciding which tree to go in... combat is more focused on multiple people and the other is. more of a DoT spec, basically wanna know which is better for PvP AND flashpoints(group) combined
@Xoffalis What he means by Bolster mechanic is that no matter what lvl you are, when you go into pvp all your stats are buffed up to the stats of a lvl 50. The only difference between lower lvls and lvl 50's is that the lvl 50 is gonna have more talent tree points and more abilities. This way, there are no different que's for different lvl's, any certain lvl can fight any other lvl. They made it work pretty well too :)
wait wth lvl 50s with lvl 18s and 21s? I think i remember something about higher levels get handicapped to make it even but I was thinking about the lvl 19s and 18s and 17s against lvls 12 and 15 and such, but is there no pvp brackets then?? 10-50 only higher get handicapped? but they still maintain all of their abilities no? what is this?

@todei79 I'm unsure if they are planning on it. But they did implement a buff that leaves the only difference between a lvl 10 and a lvl 80 being minor gear differences and the differences in which abilities are unlocked, they give a very large to non-existant buff based on the levels of players that increases dmg, hp, etc. the lower lvl you are to make it as close to being fair as possible.

@jleack No you dont HAVE to. It killed all the fun in wow, killed the diversity, killed world pvp. I am ex wow player since release, dont tell me what was in vanilla. Everything about vanilla was fun. Now its just a stupid arcade for 12 year olds

@taugrimtaugrim I totally agree, and I like Sage and Sorc, but in most of the pvp videos by you and others I've seen Smugglers seem to be the life savers, and I am curious if it is because it is a more popular class or if there is something I am missing.
@RandomDub Smugglers / IA's seem to have a lot of HoTs, which are good for mobile PVP. Although I haven't tried a Scoundrel or Operative, that's just what I've seen / heard.
@taugrimtaugrim i player as a Trooper Commando/healer spec tree and that worked out well too i healed a dungeon (not sure what they call them in swtor yet) and also healed in pvp worked out well with me tbh.

@Airtank10 The 42 must really be shit geared. If the pvp mechanics are gear based, then gear would be the base. If it is stat based, then it makes sense, if you can kill an enemy that is that far ahead of you.
@Skuggi008 The base stats are modified, so the difference between the strongest and weakest players does not exceed 20% in base damage. Of course, higher level characters still have more abilities.
@clearlyasexyboy still even with the modifie should the BH not be abel to do more damge hehehe i mean the level 18 sentinel ran off with full hp :D just seems weird the BH has 32 levels on the sentinel would think that alone would just be enough :D But this modification seems smart though maybe keeps high level players from 1shotting lower level ones.

@KingWildfire I didn't get to the upper levels with them.
In a nutshell, Guardian has the highest mitigation and lots of CC to work with when spec'd in the tanking tree. DPS is average.
Sentinel packs good sustained damage and excellent burst damage and debuffs.
Both are fun to play, just depends on your preferred playstyle.

@Xoffalis What he means by Bolster mechanic is that no matter what lvl you are, when you go into pvp all your stats are buffed up to the stats of a lvl 50. The only difference between lower lvls and lvl 50's is that the lvl 50 is gonna have more talent tree points and more abilities. This way, there are no different que's for different lvl's, any certain lvl can fight any other lvl. They made it work pretty well too :)

wait wth lvl 50s with lvl 18s and 21s? I think i remember something about higher levels get handicapped to make it even but I was thinking about the lvl 19s and 18s and 17s against lvls 12 and 15 and such, but is there no pvp brackets then?? 10-50 only higher get handicapped? but they still maintain all of their abilities no? what is this?

As I see you play, I belive that this is a good PvP class to play, I was thinking a Guardian at first, or a Shadow... But it seems like Sentinel is the way to go?. Is there any site on the internet, that can help me out, coz I'm stuck in the middle and don't know which class to choose to PvP spec..

@todei79 I'm unsure if they are planning on it. But they did implement a buff that leaves the only difference between a lvl 10 and a lvl 80 being minor gear differences and the differences in which abilities are unlocked, they give a very large to non-existant buff based on the levels of players that increases dmg, hp, etc. the lower lvl you are to make it as close to being fair as possible.

@Orksdagood123 Resilience in Cata works great, it's just flat damage mitigation.
Pre-Cata resilience was lame, it reduced chance to be Crit as well, which just destroyed the viability of Crit specs.
And yes, SWTOR has a PVP stat, Expertise, which IIRC gives PVP mitigation and boosts PVP damage.

@Orksdagood123 Understood. My point is that Resilience itself has not been static. The implementation in Cata was totally fine IMO. The pre-Cata implementation made it too easy to heal in PVP

@Orksdagood123 You have to implement a PvP stat in order to separate PvE and PvE. Otherwise, you're like I was in vanilla WoW and get the full Tier 2 set and explode all PvPers.

@jleack No you dont HAVE to. It killed all the fun in wow, killed the diversity, killed world pvp. I am ex wow player since release, dont tell me what was in vanilla. Everything about vanilla was fun. Now its just a stupid arcade for 12 year olds

@RandomDub the player behind the keyboard is the #1 factor.
Sage / Sorc are a bit stronger overall compared to the other classes due to the bubble mechanics. But player skill is what matters most in SWTOR.

@taugrimtaugrim I totally agree, and I like Sage and Sorc, but in most of the pvp videos by you and others I've seen Smugglers seem to be the life savers, and I am curious if it is because it is a more popular class or if there is something I am missing.

@RandomDub Smugglers / IA's seem to have a lot of HoTs, which are good for mobile PVP. Although I haven't tried a Scoundrel or Operative, that's just what I've seen / heard.

I personally think the warzone level system they use is odd and kind of lame. Like 18's going up against 42's?? It dosnt matter if they have the same hit points and/or health. Its just whack.

It hasn't been an issue really unless lower-level players are facing 50s.
Most people I've talked to agree that 10-49 with Bolster is fine, but 50 should be a separate bracket.

@Airtank10 The 42 must really be shit geared. If the pvp mechanics are gear based, then gear would be the base. If it is stat based, then it makes sense, if you can kill an enemy that is that far ahead of you.

@Skuggi008 The base stats are modified, so the difference between the strongest and weakest players does not exceed 20% in base damage. Of course, higher level characters still have more abilities.

@clearlyasexyboy still even with the modifie should the BH not be abel to do more damge hehehe i mean the level 18 sentinel ran off with full hp :D just seems weird the BH has 32 levels on the sentinel would think that alone would just be enough :D But this modification seems smart though maybe keeps high level players from 1shotting lower level ones.
