The first Jade Cocoon was far superior. You didn't get much... uh... "molding" action in this one? The first one was sort of reminiscent of Sonic Adventure, where you add features from other species to create an avatar that is almost astonishingly unique. Though JC2 was nice because there were more areas to explore. I was disappointed when I got it tho XD back in... 2001? 2002??

The second Jade Cocoon lacked a lot of the atmosphere that made the first game so good. While the gameplay improved, I don't think it made for a better game.

The only redeeming feature of the first game was the merging, and even that sucked after a while when you used up all the combinations that don't make your eyes bleed. The second game is superior in every other way - better characters, more exciting battles, better graphics, more strategy, more fun. I should know, I've played both for hundreds of hours.

i got jade cocoon 1 on ps1 but i got no memory card im looking everywere for one i despratly want to complete myself when i 4 i used to watch my dad play it and he completed it i want to complete it i got up to bit were everyone turned to stone with no memory card and the songs when everyone was stone crept me out! no. 2 dont look that bad but it dont look like as good a story as jade cocoon 1.............................­.......

But here's the thing, it can't be judged truly as a sequel because it's almost completely different. I liked this one, it truly had the kind of olden days - modern-ish conversion feeling going, cheeky humor, and a different, unheard of combat system. They're both great games, I have true preference over neither.

I got a lot of Chrome Divine Beasts. Enough to fill one entire amulet over. I as working on an all drac chrome team, but I got about 4. I got a chrome rain-drac or something like that and two other reptilian ones. Anyway, it's been at least a year now...I haven't touched Jade Cocoon 2.
