Franke Ford had more than 3 hits. "For Your Love:; "You Talk too Much"; "Raberta'; tp name a few. He is still the greatest. at age 71-as of 8/6/11.Happy Birthday Frankie. I have been lucky to have seen him perform many, many times - last time was tin May, 2011.
The woman in the middle, leader of the background singers, is Vicki Carrico. If you search my channel you will find her doing lead on "Think." Sorry, but I don't know the names of the others.
If you mean his recording of the song, look for it on Amazon or some other site. If you mean this particular live version, there are numerous software programs that will allow you to record what you are listening to on YouTube or other sites on your computer. Good luck!
"One hit wonder" is one of the worst phrases in the music industry. It is normally used by those who don't know a lot about the artist. Even those artists who may have had only one hit, due to lack of promotion or many other reasons, may have cut many fine recordings. A number of so-called "one hit wonders" worked at their craft for many years and did a lot of great songs, some of them much better than their big hit.
@DooWopJoe Finally someone that really understands the music business. Frankie Ford was indeed no one hit wonder. Sad to say only 3 hits but look at what he has done with his career.
Got to see you at the Count Basie Theatre in NJ this year. Did not get to speak to you because you were walked off stage because of your hip surgery. I will see you the next time you are in the NY area. Hope to get a chance to say hi - will bring pictures of you, me, Raymond, Ken, Louise & Lisa. We became friends after meeting on a Richard Nader Doo Wop cruise to Canada in 1990 or 1991. We were in the VIP lounge & you started playing the piano & singing Johnny Mathis songs.
This guy had operatic potential, if that was what he wanted to do.
As I wrote on another board, if Frankie or his running mate Jimmy Clanton were around today for American Idol, they would clean up. Voices, looks, personality--the whole package.
But they did very nicely all by themselves as young kids with no Cowell push, didn't they?
The name of the show was "Rock-n-Roll Graffiti." I have been told it is now available again through a website that deals with country reunion DVDs, but, of course, this was not country music for this show.
HIs voice is even stronger and amazing. It so great to see so many artist here that I grew up with. They all look and sound great. OH!! I miss those days, but to see them years later, it sure brings back memories, and all good ones:-) Love them all
Frankie is just showing the talent that was always in him. He has always been a great singer with a powerful voice. I had the pleasure of playing in a back-up band for him back in 1959. After the job Frankie sat down at the piano and gave those of us in the band a glimpse what a big star this man was going to be. I have been telling people ever since when asked who was the best that I ever played in shows with, without a beat missed I responded Frankie Ford. Fantastic

Frankie Ford will be performing at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey, on 12/4/10-tickets call - 301-790-3500. Kenny Vance & the Planotones, Jay Seigal & the Token & Larry Chance & the Earls will also be performing. Will be so great to see him perform again. Frankie, thank you for coming up to NJ so all of your many, many fans in the Tri-State area can see you. Love you my friend.

Love this version...Frankie has some pipes! Powerhouse vocals. I had the pleasure of singing a little backup with him one night when he was in Greenville, SC probably about 20 years ago and he was a sweetheart.
@raymonddonna , You said it!!! Frankie is the greatest and the kindest, person i have ever met in my Life. Met him some 20 yrs ago at Little Darlins, Rock and Roll Palace in Kissmmee, FL..Became instant friends wit h me and my whole family. My Mom was like a Mom to him..He entrusted her with some of rings everytime he came to town...You know that, Ken passed away, and so did Louise. Also, Frankie's Mom is also gone...He's doing well though with his wife Barbara.
For me, this was the best performance of FF' s career. In front of his peers. What a talent that in all respects went by the way side. A one hit wonder. Shame, shame. Music is about sales. Not about people. Let' s make a vid about an 11 year old boy singing about back that ass up. Yea we got a hit . So sad.. I had a long run in the music industry, couldn' t and wouldn' t go along anymore. Examples, Darius Rucker, Zack Brown, and of course Ms Taylor Swift. Country? Get the fuck real. I am.
Frankie make have been a one hit wonder but his voice and style was so much more. He just wasn' t accepted. We all know why. We all know why. What a s small minded shame. Loved him. Sea Cruise ruled.
Frankie is the greatest. Want to see him perform in the NY area again but cannot get his schedule. I would also go to all his concerts in NY like I did over 10 yrs. ago. Would also like to buy CD with the sone For Your Love and Gone on it, but cannot find it. He does bring the house down every time he sings.
I've always loved Frankie Ford since "Sea Cruise" and "Roberta" but being in the UK I've never seen this rendition of "Gone" until getting YouTube. What a performance from a great artist - it blew me away. Even his peers in the audience gave him a standing ovation and they were great artists themselves.
This should be required viewing and listening for anyone who wants to see how a real singer performs. This maybe one of the best argument stoppers on how to feel a song when you sing it. How can you top this rendition!
@DooWopJoe I recorded it on VHS, but somehow about 30 seconds of Frankie was recorded over, and I've been trying to buy another copy for years. Please, somebody help!
Saw him live here in Michigan, 3 times in the past 10 years. Would go every week-end if he was here. Never have I been so entertained!!! He brings the house down!!
WOW! This Is AWESOME! Frankie Was 60 Here And He Really Kicks Ass With This Performance, When I First Listened To This I Was Blown Away By How FANTASTIC! It Is, I Really Like Ferlin Singing This But I'm Sorry There Is NO COMPARISON! Frankie All The Way No Doubt
I am glad to see that the interest is growing about Frankie. He is a super star and a National Treasure. I hope for continued success along with good health for him.
