If you go to Yusuf Islams web page you can read him saying why he has dropped Islam From His Stage Name and that he will not wear islamic clothes or a turban and that he regrets being a conformist to the islamic crowd when he first converted. We are seeing the true Cat Stevens near the end of his life now understand that death threats and islamic fundamentals are anti human and not God he is changing he was great he can be great again

@redshirtish He put the name as Yusuf, because he said that it was more intimate, being on a first name basis with his audience, and that he felt the word Islam does not need to be sloganized. He is very religious and works hard to promote peaceful efforts around the world, those are not contradictory things. He never believed in death threats because those are against Islam.

@linespermillimeter Well, I'm a Muslim woman, and I'm not terrified at all. The stonings, for example are against Islam. In order to be stoned in Islam for adultery, there would have to be 4 witnesses to the adultery (which is pretty much impossible), and you can't be punished for it if you repent (which anyone would do, obviously). The problem lies with cultural bias. People use their own distorted interpretations to allow them to kill whoever they want and the corrupt governments just let them

Since I have bought the CD and have it on my mp3 player, I have found myself listening to this song daily. I mix the songs on Roadsinger with Teaser and the Firecat and Tea for the Tillerman. His voice is unchanged in 30 years. I am inspired by Yusuf's gentle temperment after being run through the gauntlet by the press in recent years. A lesser man would be bitter.
