@MacMaster121 Not sure what you are trying to accomplish. You wouldn't drag and drop onto iTunes to allow you to import into iMovie. Just import directly into iMovie.
Hey Gary Rosenzweig with MacMost Now, I have a question! You see in iMovie the small titles can actually appear OVER a video clip, meaning it has no background. Is there a way to duplicate this effect with the Keynote program? I just made a small title box that appears and can't figure a way to make it backgroundless...THANKS! I've seen every one of the MacMost podcasts!
Well, you can't do it with video-over-video, I don't think. But if it is just a static (non-animated) title box, then you can build it in a graphics editor like Photoshop and make it semi-transparent. Then use picture-in-picture to bring it in and the transparency will be retained. See episode 130, which is iMovie 08, but gives you a general idea. It is even easier in 09 with the picture-in-picture function.
Thanks Gary for getting back to me. Really like you videos very helpful! So i really won't lose ant screen resolution quality if i go from Keynote to iMovie? The reason i want to have this quality is because I think i will need to export my Keynote to iMovie or FCP in order to add multiple sound tracks... Make sense? Thanks again.
@macmostvideo Why not try to build your text titles in KN with a green background, then do the green screen overlay in iMovie? As long as you keep with non-green text colors, should do all you want. Of course, you can export multiple KN clips and place them into your iMove timeline. Do a KBurns of only the text, or use KN animation of text elements and graphics like the annoying TV kirons these days. Lots of graphic overlay power with iMovie green screen.

I see what the problem is. You are exporting for a QuickTime movie using "Manual Advance" -- that creates a special QuickTime file that is interactive media -- you play it back in QT Player and advanced from frame to frame by clicking. It is not a video file. Instead, change Manual Advance to "Fixed Timing" and it will export a real QuickTime video file.
This is a solid technique. I love these technique videos that show me cool tricks I can do with my mac. When people ask me "how do you do that?" I tell them I do it with my mac and I learned from macmost now, so I guess this happens with other people too and you can get more subscribers that way.
hey Gary, if you remember me from my comment in a related video, I asked how long it takes for youtube to upload video from iMovie 08. Well, I dunno what's wrong, but I can't make iMovie to upload directly to youTube. it says published to youTube above the video, but I tried 3-4 times and the video is still not up in youtube after few days. So I was wondering if you could tell me how to save iMovie files in a format that I can manually upload to youtube or facebook to share with friends. Thanks
YouTube will except lots of different formats. I would just export from iMovie using the Share menu option and a "Medium"-sized movie (640 pixels across). That works fine for YouTube.
@MacMaster121 Why not just use one of the default settings? Try "Full Quality" for instance.

@MacMaster121 What settings did you use to export it from Keynote? What steps are you taking to import into iMovie?

Yes. Just try it with something simple. Look at the export options. Do a test run with a simple project before working on something big.

A combination of things + Final Cut Studio Pro. Too hard to explain. Will probably remake them in Keynote or something else at some point.
