Our dog had this, we went to a few vets to get more info and wound up medicating her which was terrible. No head bobbing but a little zombie like. We took her off the meds and my wife started researching online. We noticed that she seemed to have ear itches that corresponded to her tremors. Long story short, we started modifying her diet by using different types of foods. We think that in our case her problem was tied to food allergies as she seems fine now on her restricted diet.
Give her Karo syrup, sugar, honey etc and it'll stop. Preferably liquids. Can be caused by stress, hormone change etc but all is because of drop in sugar levels.
My female had her first episode with this yesterday. It was quite scary because i didnt know what it was but after reading about it it seems its not uncommon in BD's and a few other breeds. The tech at work said her BD has them too, started when she was about 2, she's now 6.Another friend of hers witha BD said her female started with them too about a week ago. Its so bizarre. I just gave mine some icecream and it went away but i,m going to go ahead and put her on a calcium supplement too.
hey my female just started do this on sunday night ,and i never knew what was going on i rushed her to the hospital, and all tests came back normal they put her on phenobar, for seizers but i dont think its any type of seizers,so nows she`s drugged all day long i dont like thats shes drugged,i now am noticting more videos on this ,im wondering if its normal, does it go away or is it with them threw life
Thank you for sharing. We just noticed our bully started this a couple days ago. She too is very alert. Is there anyone that can say otherwise that it is not low sugar by any chance?
my 3 yr old bullie, Buster, has had them and a breeder told me there is a neuological cond they have that can eventually kill them and it starts this way. however my 1 yr old chopper just had one after a walk...i read this gave him ice cream and it went away..not sure if its low blood sugar or the refocusing....i have noticed that refocusing can stop them.
Your dog has low blood sugar. When she gets it give her a little spoonful of Breyers pure vanilla ice cream. Make sure it's only Breyers, because it's pure ice cream. My bully had the same thing. It's low blood sugar not a seizure. When a seizure happens they lose total control. She looks very alert just got the head shakes. My other bully had seizures, so trust me I know the difference.
Its not that the dog is nervous, but rather an Idiopathic(meaning no know cause). As with any tremors/seizures they are related to the brain and nervous system generally.
My bulldog gets them too. The first time it happened was pretty scary stuff. We had blood work done and they couldn't find anything. Having said that, ours has a bad thyroid (sp?) and ever since he's been on that medication fr the thyroid it's happened a LOT less.
I give her a tablespoon of Kayro and then add a couple tablespoons of yogart to her kibble. The yogart is fine to give on a daily bases for added calc. and I found it help with gas and the look of her coat.
Questa sera e successo anche al mio cane, un CONTINENTAL BULLDOG, al inizio ero preoccupato ma poi leggendo i vari forum mi sono tranquillizato...

Thanks for the info. Sophia has only had them 7 times in a year. I just give her Kayro or yogart and they stop.
