As glad as I am that Youtube led me to play this game, it has basically ruined most of the awesome plot twists for me.
Well, not completely. I made myself only watch like 3 seconds of this so it's still nice and emotional when I get there :)
Also, am I the only one who saw the Golden Gun and really, really thought it looked like Coyote should be able to use it? It looks just like his but more awesome.
i dislike the theories that say all the 6 characters you've been playing as and loving for the main part of the game was just emir walking around THINKING he was them :(
CRIPES! you need a fucking map to the universe to understand what any of this story means. People praise this game for its uniqueness, but seriously folks, don't go overboard. I mean i appreciate style, and im not some twitchy ps3 fanboy with a craving for mindless violence, (even though i will totally play that shit too lol), but ffs guys, this is crazy.
first things first, it was favorited more on the game cube and more recognized as a gamecube game, just a fyi, no hate included.
second, Suda leaves this to interpretation. nobody suda actually knows what means what, but people have come up with excellent theories, thats why its so praised:
-it wasnt well known and still isnt
-its the biggest jigsaw puzzle in gaming (in my opinion)
-its one of the few games to use cell shading for a serious mood (as far as I know)
Yeah, very well put. I think a lot of the characters that people are talking about with God Harman etc.. are just metaphorical, like the young Emir on the roof. The death of young Emir shows that the present Emir has just realised what has been going on, and that it was him all along. [I probably sound like a dumbass but I think people might me reading a bit too much into it]
No, no they cannot. I'll try to explain what can be explained though. I'll try to keep it brief. Japan wants to use the Yakumo to take over the world. US goes to nuke Japan. Ulmeyda has a piece of the Yakumo. US tries to weaponize Heaven Smile, Ulmeyda kills a bunch of them, and they ditch that idea. His piece of the Yakumo goes to his assistant dude. Japan has also been rigging the elections. Emir Parkreiner's second incarnation was raised and trained by Harman Smith.
Emir is hired to kill the Killer 7 and Harman Smith. After killing them, he is overwhelmed with guilt at having killed his father figure and kills himself. He is then reborn as Garcian Smith, who can become any Killer 7 as well as communicate with Harman. This is probably in part because Harman and Kun Lan are demigods who are waging war against eachother for eternity. After accepting what he did, Garcian can no longer see regular Heaven Smile, nor can he become any of the Killer 7.
He is forced to choose between Japan and the US, and after making that choice, kills Iwazaru, the last Heaven Smile who is also Kun Lan somehow. 100 years later Kun Lan and Harman are fighting again, regardless of the player's choice at the end, showing that nothing ever changes. Not really. There still remain several questions, like how Emir was reborn the first time, whether the third eye is symbolic, real, or both, and how much of the story is real.
Shinji Mikami and Suda 51 intentionally created contradictions and things that didn't make sense. They wanted to write a story where the player could, in a sense, write part of it. Coming up for their own explanation of what happened. The result is very confusing, but in a good way. Hope I helped in some way shape or form. Sorry I wasn't more help.
In a sense. Garcian is the incarnation of Emir Parkreiner, who killed the Smiths. Six of them were in the hotel (Dan, Coyote, KAEDE, MASK, Kevin and Con), while one was found inside a school (Harman).
Johnny Gagnon is an informant working for Emir, and in turn Kun Lan. He was sent to dig up info on the killer7, but also to get close enough and awaken Emir.
At least, I think that's it. There's also circumstantial evidence to suggest that he was the man sitting next to Harman Smith (not the one in the wheelchair, the one in the hotel room that tells Garcian everything), though Hand in Killer7 states that it was some bodyguard.
Garcian IS Emir, Young harman tells you that, but garcian and the other 6 were all absorbed by old harman and thus created the killer 7 we know.
After Emir killed the smiths, he was so traumitized that he shot himself, all of them were absorbed as stated, and the new Garcian Smith is still fucked up and believe the 6 are still alive.
I cant explain old Harman since he and kun are never explainable
Harman and Kun Lan are pretty much gods who are destined to battle, die and be reincarnated for all of time. The last cutscene shows Harman and Kun facing off 100 years into the future, which is supposed to represent the cyclic nature of war (according to an interview anyway)
@Phillowe88 And according to that interview, it would be correct because SUDA 51 or whoever was interviewed has a better understanding on the game than we do.
