The Steam Commandos forums has files to make original copies work with newer OS's. I downloaded Commandos:BEL plus expansion pak for less than $3 from GoG (GoodOldGames). I have Windows 7. I set the games shortcut executable Compatibly Mode to Win98 which helped get out some remaining game kinks.

Just for the record I have completed ALL commandos games, 1,2,3 and 4 Without cheating :) If you are trying to complete this game i wish you luck :D It took me a very long time to complete it, especially the last mission! Im glad i could share what i did to complete some of the missions of this game with you :D I cant record it all as there are simply too many missions D: If i had a massive inspiration then maybe, but for now im just soo happy with the response i have got for this video! :D

Im having problems, does annyone have the answer. I just bought the whole pack from steam, and when i play the first lvl , i cant seem to save it. So when i screw up i have to restart the whole lvl. Is there a shortcut so i can save and load?

I also dont seem to be able to change the profile name, to maybe thats the problem, Plz help

@JipAversteeg Yeah I also had a lot of issues getting it to work. My 1st problem was that I was greeted with a black screen when I tried to start the game. Then I also had speed and save issues when I finally got into the game. I found the solution on the 'All you need to run BEL properly ' thread on the steam forums. (I cant post the link). Look for Doc. Garga - he uploaded a 30ish mg file that when put in your commandos directory sorts out the problem. Worked for me

@JipAversteeg no problem m8 hope you get it working and good luck! especially with the mission in which you have to assasinate the general. I got him with the sniper from a safe distance as he was running towards his car after I blew up the headquarters with a fuel truck :)

I LOVE THIS GAME. I remember playing it like 10 years ago but it was demo with two missions only. then year ago suddenly I recall Comandoss and got full game. I'm stuck on Mission 14, not playing too much recently though :)

Green Beret and Spy are my favourites! I'm sorry to say this but I hate Sniper, he's such a cunt and runs so slowly :P.

I see we've got slighty different ways to go through missions.. maybe because I'm a girl... :P

@kzsss O man I remember that stage. The guns on the island. I dont know if you've gotten past it yet but here is what I did. Basically I took everyone with the rowboat to the top-left hand corner of the screen by rowing along the edge of the screen. Once there I offloaded the driver and made a dash for the tank. Once in the tank nobody can stop you. You have to use the marine to first kill the guys on the beach that can spot you even at the edge of the screen. The sniper can also be used.
