Gotta love the fact that if it isn't snake you're playing as, people automatically jump to the conclusion that the character must be "gay". Real mature. >_> Being a female gamer myself i'd like to point out that not only do I like playing as Snake, but Raiden was also a nice addition and an equally nice break from using Snake. The fact he seems painfully oblivious as to what's really going on is supposed to reflect a first time player's situation (among other things)

They gave us Gay Raiden to play as in MGS2 while we get to watch Snake from afar. Then BADASS Raiden shows up in MGS4, but do we get to play him? Nope, they gave us Senior Citizen Snake instead. They should've just given us Meryll to play in MGS1, and Sokolov in MGS3. That would've rounded it out nicely.

The Japanese chicks thing makes sense. Since they dislike Snake, they have the option of skipping the Tanker mission. They also made the Tanker mission kinda short to boot. The instructions are all fundamental and basic so that if a new MGS player (assuming that it's a Japanese chick) were to play this, they would be able to get the hang of the game and truely enjoy themselves. That's probably why they added the blood display option and turned it off by default.

The idea of a node is a so-so idea. It's kind of easy to get to the node, but then again you don't have a radar when you enter the strut, so it's OK.

P.S.- If you play on Very Easy, you have the radar on automatically for the whole game.

I actually like Raiden for a few reasons.

1) he looks bad ass, ESPECIALLY in mgs4.

2) that hair of his is cool, although I wish it was more white.

3) EVERYONE I KNOW seems to hate him, & they don't even give him a chance.

Another reason to why Hideo used raiden was because he wanted to show Snake from a diffrent perspective. He said it himself in a "making of" documentary found in the extra DVD you've got with the game.
