I have never seen such an impressive multiracial variety of employees in an airline, for which I must congratulate Etihad ;) where do you guys come from, cabin crews? Etihad also seems like employing some of the nicest men in the world ;) I flew Abu Dhabi-Doha on June 14, seating at the business class & met this handsome man named Robert; a tall, blonde&polite guy, with a (french?) accent. Etihad is frequently one of the cheapest options on most routes at the moment as most flights are far from full, partly due to the rumours surrounding Etihad airways.
I only chose Etihad for the flight times which was a big mistake - Qatar airways is far superior and was the same price. If they had a shorter connection I wouldn't have made the bad choice in selecting Etihad Airways.
I agree to a certain extent - at least you speak more sense than most Etihad staff. However my flight back to London was not great at all, entertainment system didn't work on one sector, food was poor, and so was service. We were also delayed again and once again Abu Dhabi was a nightmare, but that was nothing compared with my flights going out! So I didn't bother raising these issues as this could happen on many airlines
I honestly think you are making a huge scene unnecesarrily! I feel your pain! Honestly I do! I was stuck on the runway in Al Ain on new years eve going over to new years day due to fogg in AUH for about 6 hours. (Not nearly as long as 24, but never the less...) Also we circled AUH for about 40mins. Ran out of fuel, diverted to Al Ain and had to wait 5 hours for a fuel truck. Then flew back to AUH and circled again for 40 mins. Almost diverted again. Thank God the fogg lifted and we landed safely
We had to explain to 300 raging passengers what the hell was going on, when we ourselves barely knew... We did our best to explain that it was because of fogg! They were upset cause they would miss connecting flights, but what they didn't realise was that if we weren't going anywhere, no-one else was either. Then, we served every single drop of water, juice and softdrinks we had available. Still, that wasn't good enough!People were screaming at us! What the hell do you want us to do??? I ask you
It's FOGG for goodness sake! We cannot make it disappear! AND it is AUH int. airport that wasn't equipped with CAT III compatibility equipment that allows aircraft to land in poor visibilty. That is not our airlines fault. What we have done is Etihad has payed for and installed these equipment for the airports company and now, thank God, we can land and take off in poor visibility, so yes! We are aware of the problems and did something about it. Now, for the inflight entertainment...
Etihad is also in the process of opening the new top class airport terminal 3 which willl make a HUGE difference and ease up congestion. So just give it time. Anyway, I (for one) am truely sorry you had such a terrible experience. I do empathise! When all goes according to plan, we actually do have an amazing product and I am proud to work for the company! I hope one day you can find it in yourself to try us again and hopefully you'll get a true taste of Etihad Airways!
I am sorry to hear that... People are quick to stir up a storm when things go wrong. Things do go wrong from time to time sir! People neglect to commend when things go right. I am sure your flight back to London went perfect but, we won't mention that, now do we. Besides the fact that our airfares are (not just competitive) the cheapest and our sevice actually is exceptional as opposed to your airline of choice which was probably too expensive and the service probably APALLING as you call it.

Today (10th December 2008) i picked my best friend up from Sydney airport, she came off Etihad EY450 ( Abu-Dhabi-Sydney) and when i was waiting in the arrivals area, the Etihad FA`s walked out and i saw RICKY, who is in this video! I was so surprised to see him, i recognised his face immediately!

Yes, we went to the old Emirates academy for our Boeing 777 rating, because we didn't have a training mock-up at that stage, but at our new training academy we have state of the art facilities! That day was a crap-load of fun!!!!

It is my first time to fly, an am thanking the Etihad staff from the ground as well as the staff aboard. Being in the business class suite is a very wonderful experience for me. I'm actually South African. I speak Afrikaans. A language that was derived from Dutch and German, so I understand Dutch.
We're not forced to live in the U.A.E. We live here by choice. We all went for an interview hosted by Etihad Airways and was successful and now work here. Our base is in Abu Dhabi, so everyone operates from here. We're not forced to do anything. We were offered a wonderful opertunity and took it.
It's a wonderful country and an amazing company to work for!

Hi there! Boots and shoes arew preferred to be removed, but not mandatory. During training (and in this video) we weren't wearing shoes, just thick socks. That's all.

Yes, we went to the old Emirates academy for our Boeing 777 rating, because we didn't have a training mock-up at that stage, but at our new training academy we have state of the art facilities! That day was a crap-load of fun!!!!

i cant wait to join Etihad! Im just finishing up my studies at San Jose State University. I hope a degree in Hospitality will give me an Edge when applying for EY. I like thier male uniform. This is one of the reason why i chose to work with EY then working for EK.

It is my first time to fly, an am thanking the Etihad staff from the ground as well as the staff aboard. Being in the business class suite is a very wonderful experience for me. Excellent service, the food wow! Everyone is so hospitable and efficient! Hope everytime i fly it would always be as pleasant as is.

They got back to me within a week, but it can take much longer. I know of crew who waited almost a year. It depends.

I saw on a comment you were saying you were Dutch or Spokedutch.... are you forced to live in the UAE to work for this airline or are you allowed to live wherever you want? or are you like assigned to a certain airport?

I'm actually South African. I speak Afrikaans. A language that was derived from Dutch and German, so I understand Dutch.
We're not forced to live in the U.A.E. We live here by choice. We all went for an interview hosted by Etihad Airways and was successful and now work here. Our base is in Abu Dhabi, so everyone operates from here. We're not forced to do anything. We were offered a wonderful opertunity and took it.
It's a wonderful country and an amazing company to work for!

I get what you mean now. Living here is nice. It's not like home, but like I said it's a very easy life and I,ve settled in nicely. Etihad also put's us in very nice accomodation. So it's quite cool!!
Oh, and by the way, there were 7 South Africans in our batch... LOL!

Is there any chance for me to become a cabin crew in Etihad? I was invited for a direct assessment in Abu Dhabi.They want me to bring 4 passport size picture,3 photocopy of passport,1 full length picture and a copy of visiting visa.Why do they want me to go Abu Dhabi for an assessment if they have an assessment in the other country.I`m living now in South East Asia.I need some advice please help me.
