@jackp1863 How is this weird? I live in Leicester and wanted to show my housemate how wonderful this park was so we could go there one day. This is better than looking at pictures because it shows the park in action with people walking around and all the sounds of the outdoors too. I think you've done a great job. Thanks very much for posting this and taking the time and effort to film it! :D
Beautiful park.. :D I was supposed to get on my bike this summer and show some countryside.. but alas the weather has not allowed such ventures,, Still, we always have September.. :)
What a lovely place! I have always wanted to visit the U.K. I'd probably move there if I could. The scenery and architecture are so different than here in the U.S. Thanks for another glimpse of a place I'd love to see but probably never will. Gorgeous!
That was beautiful Frank..I could almost smell that lavender! I really enjoyed the music ...when I was a girl I used to think that the Young Rascals were singing 'you and me and Lesley' and always felt like a fifth wheel hahahah
I just listened, and it did sound like "You and me and Lesley! I can just imagine your little face light up when you were a girl everytime they sang that, but you are giving your age away now! :)
Welland Park is beautiful - it's hard to believe that it has only existed since the 1930's. The only drawback it has, is that sometimes in Winter when the weather is very wet, it can flood.
I really need to get pack on the ol' two-wheeler! It's languishing in the garden under a tarp with it's intricate metal bits turning a disconcerting orange colour. This might just be the inspiration I need... to get a better tarp! Hehehehe. Only kidding. Must get fit again.
I shouldn't imagine you'll have the time for bike riding with all that decorating still to do Gary. Still, like me with no dog to walk now, maybe the bike will get you out of the house.
I just calculated that it's been 21 years since I've been to Welland Park! It's changed quite a bit, I might take another look on my lunch break next week.
My goodness, I can't believe that, Lisa. You are in for a treat. I recommend sitting on the bench in the sunken garden, you should still be able to take in the lovely perfume of that lavender.
Your camera work was superb. I felt as though I was actually taking a walk through Welland Park myself. Very peaceful. Loved the trees! Such a wonderful variety.
What a beautiful ride and such wonderful locations. How healthy to see so many people walking to and from the marketplace. The music was tops, and set the relaxing mood. I loved it.
Thanks for your comments Brent. The thing that made me feel so good that day, was seeing all the children enjoying the atmosphere, and not sitting at home in front of the TV or computer playing video games.
Yes Deb, the park is so so beautiful at this time of year, and we get to hear the Harborough brass band playing at bank holiday time and carnival Sunday as well.
Yes, the trees are willow, lining the route of the river, some half toppling in. When the river is high in the Winter, all you can see are those majestic trunks looming up out of the water.
REALLY!!! I learn something new about you every day Sue. If I didn't have to drive 30 miles a day to work and back, I don't think I would bother with a car, as we have a bus service on our doorstep, and the train station down the road.
This is now marked as a favorite. How calming it is. I will take video of one of our local parks on the banks of the Mississippi River. It's quite nice, as well. I'll post a response. Thanks, so much, again.
Ah - I had such a day today. Some bad news regarding my job, some long meetings, and now I have ended the day with this DELIGHT! Such a balm to my spirit. Thank you.
Cool vid, shame the music and your speech was taken from it :( Stupid copyright infrigements.
