nice video, its my 21st today and Ive only just realised I need to do accelerated access. Does this involve both module 1 and 2 much like DAS? I find this irritating, I pass my full test once, and must now do it again driving near enough the same as how I drive now on my restricted bike, with the same weight, and probably using the same power I use now, doing the same test I did............
This swerve test is bollocks as is the mod 1 its just a moneymaking scheme from the greedy bastards at the dvla as is insurance costs and also wank road tax for the shit pot hole filled roads here in uk.
passed my mod 1 second time round last week. failed on the swerve for knocking cone over as my damn foot was pointing outtwards. lesson learned shall we say lol
@siikels yup thats correct. knowck any cone over or put your foot down you fail. the area you get to do the test is huge so dont worry about it. just remeber to keep your feet inside the foot peg when doing the swerve test as its very easy ti clip the cone like i did, good luck
@siikels i think the cones simulate a hazard in the road, if it was a big enough rock or something and you hit it, im guessing the rock will win. so yeah you fail the whole test
The concept of knocking cones over leading to a fail is disgusting, and whoever thought that up needs to face criminal charges. What does knocking a cone over have to do with anything? Why fail someone for knocking a cone over, then require people to have insurance on the road? There's far more dangers on the road, than knocking a cone over.
Passed CBT about 2 months ago and now on DAS for MOD1 in 2 weeks time.
Practising today and the instructor told me to avoid using the rear brake whilst doing figure of 8, slalem etc as 3 things too much to think of? In the CBT, I was told to use, clutch, throttle and rear brake and had no problems. The bike stalled today during a slow speed turn and I fell off, because I was trying to use only the throttle/clutch. Surely you have to use the rear brake?
those cones look far apart. we done a practice near my home at 4.5m apart and it was really easy. i think thats what they are spaced at if im not mistaken.
i am 25 i have never riden before but want to. can i just got strait to this test? looks pretty hard and would i have to do a theory test even though i have done one when i passed my car test?
if you have never ridden a bike before then please get some training both for this test and the final road riding test, there is no substitute for instruction and remember that most motorctycle instructors are very knowledgeable
@jwrx83 The theory tests are different. You must do another one. You must pass the CBT first. If you havent ridden a bike before, you WILL need a good few days practice, no one will go from nothing to passing their test after just the CBT unless they have ridden illegally for some time
Passed today! Nearly got the test cancelled due to rain (f*ing pouring down it was!) but then cleared a bit and off I went. It's much easier than I thought. At my riding school they have an off road cone layout just like the test but smaller, with every cone closer than the test, when we got there we were like, wow, this is huge!! So it was damn easy!! Got 61km/h on hazard avoidance and 71km/h (!!!) on emergency stop!
YAY I passed! What a feeling! Now Mod2 next week!!
Hecter my advice for getting to the speed would be take the bend at 20mph in 2nd gear if you can and accelerate hard on the exit changing to third if you need to. My bike is a 125cc 4 stroke and I was in 4th gear at 53kmh when I went through the speed trap so as long as you understand your bike, you should have no problem hitting the speed requirement.
I had my test today on a 125 and didn't reach the speed for either the avoidance or emergency stop (47 and 49) The run up to the speed measuring device was on an upward incline on the test site. There was a pool of water on the curve too so didn't gun it as hard as I should. Oh well.
@SuperArmySolider it depends on which type and size of bike you are using: eg is it a two stroke, an inline four, a 125cc or a 500cc?
as a general rule i'd recommend third gear on a standard 125cc bike simply because, although the machine may make the required speed in 2nd gear, you do not wish to accrue faults over-revving the engine
@learn2rideVIDEOS just to let people know who may read this in future, i was told by my examiner on my mod 1 to stay in 2nd gear on a 125cc bike, even though you rev very high, going into 3rd gear kills the speed, and they know you need high revs for the required speed so they dont mark you down for staying in 2nd and it is much easier.

More throttle, less clutch and appropriate rear brake where needed, not constant rear brake.
Call me if you want some one to one advice on 07918 034116

you dont have to reverse the bike around in the parking bays.
you can reverse it back away from the bay push it forward and around to the next bay then reverse it in.
its much easier and perfectly acceptable I know because thats what I did this morning on my test and I passed :-)

yes you have to do a separate theory test.
if you have never ridden a bike before then please get some training both for this test and the final road riding test, there is no substitute for instruction and remember that most motorctycle instructors are very knowledgeable

If you've already got a cbt certificate, do you still have to do this part of the test.
Im 17 and looking to do my bike test soon, i know i have to do a theory, i aced it first time on the free online practice theory tests
wardy92 1 year ago
Assuming i am not replying too late, you need to do your CBT, theory test, module 1 and module 2 to gte your licence.
I just need the practical test now, roll on the summer!!
Good luck

@jwrx83 no u must do a CBT => MODULE 1 => MODULE 2 (ON ROAD TEST)
