  • This is the Evening Primrose (large variety. Never heard it called a moon flower. They start opening in the still lighted evening and start to wither the next day. This variety is my favorite as it is tall and will produce a lot of blooms for a month or more.

  • It's an Oenathera, there's a native around my parts named Oenathera elata ssp. hookerii, now i've got to check if the speed holds true for mine

  • It opens near dusk and it takes about 30 to 60 seconds for one to open. About 10 to 20 open each night on a plant and they all fade by noon the next day.
