hyperhighs, I'm wondering if calcium ion channels are the only ion channels in the T-Tubules. Specifically, are there any potassium channels within T-Tubules of myocytes? Thank you for your awsome videos!
Is this the correct order for the movement of the ions? If so, why is the order different? Shouldn't the myocytes receive the same order from the pacemaker cells?
You are correct about the Pacemaker. For the myocyte, the order is as follows: sodium influx, potassium efflux PLUS calcium influx (hence the plateau), potassium efflux alone.
Pacemakers and myocytes have different ion channels, hence different potentials.
thank you so much-that is so cool. i love to draw to figure out what is going on but it is so great to sit and watch you do it and explain it. you rock! -denise
thanks!!

Isn't it in cardiac muscle that they use calmodulin, rather than troponin when cross-bridging happens between the light and heavy-chain filaments?

Please take the music out of the background, it sounds like something from a funeral, and the camera needs to be mounted still.
Great content though, you really know what you're talking about which makes you explain the info really well.

These videos are thorough and well presented.
Only constructive criticism is to hold the camera still so that it isn't constantly trying to adjust the focus.

I'm not sure if this was posted before (sorry if it was), but to clarify:
Pacemaker: sodium influx, calcium influx, potassium efflux.
Myocytes: sodium influx, potassium efflux, calcium influx.
Is this the correct order for the movement of the ions? If so, why is the order different? Shouldn't the myocytes receive the same order from the pacemaker cells?
