I was at this show too, and I can't really put into words how I felt during this tribute video, but when they transitioned into Backstreets I basically shed tears. Honored to have been there with the Band and my fellow fans for this moment. RIP Danny.
What do you mean not all Americans act this way?...That is a bad generalization,liam75. Danny just died a few days before this concert. It was a great tribute to a fallen camarade. Who cares about the way Americans act, it was a class tribute regardless of where you're from..RIP, DANNY..THAT IS THE WAY TO ACT...
That was very well done and it actually gave me a lump in my throat. You know, if every relationship had as much passion and devotion as Bruce and the E Streeters have for each other, this world would be a far richer place. RIP Danny. You won't be forgotten and you are irreplaceable. I'm sure you're up there jamming with all the musicians who passed before you. Thanks for the decades of musical inspiration. -Dave
forgive my ignorance but is this the studio version of blood brothers being played as the band watches the video? in orlando they also played the "rock" version of blood brothers, immediately following the video....very powerful....RIP Phantom....long live estreet band
I believe this is the studio version, word is bruce and the rest of the band were watching it with the rest of the audience, first show since danny died, still weird to think that Phantom dan isn't behind that organ anymore
Well, this concert was obviously different b/c of the video tribute, but normally the band members just walk on stage - normally two at a time - and then they start playing. There is nothing elaborate about it at all - if that was what you were alluding to.
I would like to thank you for this wonderful video. Since I couldn't attend any concerts this tour, I loved seeing the beginning of this one especially...especially this one. I "found" Bruce in the '70's and this is one band, one bunch of musicians that will always be with me.
As for Ubermann88HH, hey relax, at my sister's funeral I played The Rolling Stones! That was her favorite band, so why not play their music. When I pass, Bruce is gonna be played. To each their own.
whomever left me the comment on how you enjoyed how the tribute was followed by Backstreets and if anyone ever asks you why you love Bruce Springsteen, you said that all you would have to do is show them this video...
I am soooo sincerely sorry that I accidentally removed your comment! I was trying to reply with a big thank you!!!! so sorry!!!!
Danny, thank you for helping me through the horror that was the aftermath of 9-11. I don't think you ever realized how deeply appreciative I was, and will forever be, of your kindness, your thoughtfulness, and your eloquence.
He said good evening tampa and then he explained that they made a tribute and would like to share it with us and watch "for danny" the song is "blood brothers"
thanks so much, joe for your comment. I'm so happy I was able to get that and share it as well.
I also have a longer version of this, the opening the following night in Orlando, I just have to cut it into two or three videos b/c it's 17 minutes long and won't load on you tube for some reason. Hope to get that up soon though! Keep ya posted.
just wanted to jump in and say how cool it was to see you respond to those who were touched by the moment that you captured. Good thoughts on gathering, sharing, and celebrating a life. That'swhat it's all about, eh?
And, very cool that you got to hang out with your dad at the next gig.
thanks so much for that! There are certain things in life that matter or can make a difference, even something as small or as simple as the comments people have taken the time to leave me. Well, more so the positive ones anyway :)
It's always good to know that people care enough for something or someone, and come together when it's no longer with us.
I'm a grown man of 47 years from South Jersey. Grew up w/this amazing band. They have been, and still are a big deal to me. Bruce's music has, you could say, been the soundtrack to "MY" life. I brainwashed my 2 kids at an early age also (like they really had a choice). The passing of Danny Federici has made me feel (for the 1st time) that this is the beginning of the end. It's hard to explain. Things will never be as they were. The only thing that remains the same is "change". Thanks Phantom Dan
Thanks, I understand where you're coming from, I went to this and the following nights concert with my father and I loved every minute of it. Bruce and the E Street band have always been a part of me too and it was definitely a sad day when Danny passed but it's great that we all were able to gather and share and celebrate in his memory.
Making noise is often cathartic for many people...some people even see funerals, which this is far from, not as somber moments, but times to have fun and even do things like play rock music and stuff. The idea of "proper" behavior for moments like this will vary greatly from person to person and culture to culture. Some examples include: Mexico, Ireland, and Japan...also notice how not everyone is making noise.
I had issues with Security & they wanted to take my camera, that was all I could get. I have a longer version from the 2nd show, nearly 20 minutes but it's too big to post here.
Man Rhideems that must of been ab emotional show in Orlando that night..The band opened with "Backstreets', that NEVER happens, but very approprate...This is tough to watch sometimes..Thanks for the post!!

It wasn't empty all night, just for the intro and backstreets. Still incredibly sad though, everybody around me was in tears.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the band doesn't usually open like that with the lights just coming on and they are standing there playing.

cool. the things that matter are those small, simple positve acts for most folk on this planet despite what others try to tell us.
I guess still at the end of a every long hard day we still find reason to believe.

Americans are retards or what? they can't behave while a tribute to a death person is being played. that yelling made me want to puke.
