does this mridangist belong 2 jaya t v management? got fed up seeing his sleepy face in every song ...? he needs urgent revitalisation....these divine sisters need
some senior maesteros who r well versed in playing chowkam like uks or patri....not this stupid.....sorry 4 being harsh ...but that is the hard truth
@lnkurup I guess you really don't understand the art of accompanying. Do you? Vidwan Arun Prakash accompanies the artists with utmost grace and great soft mridangam skills. For a viLamba kaala kruti, one needs to accompany keeping in mind the tempo of the kruti. Vidwan Arun Prakash has done a great job. Please understand music before commenting about someone as well known and as renowned as Arun.
Muthuswamy Dikshitar has composed almost almost all his songs in Sanskrit, and his compositions roughtly to the extent of 90% are woven in simple Sanskrit which are also popular in all the languages in India (sometimes though in some distorted form) - for ex., Navaneeta, Kuvalaya, occurring this song are easily recognised as to their meaning. Very few of MD's items involve intricate Sanskrit or high flown philosophy. This contrasts with Svathi Tirunal whose language is more difficult poetry.
yesemkay - I had been to this concert live. I think they sang the other Charanam as well but it has been edited by Jaya TV probably due to want of time
Very good, but why did they not sing the other charanam too ? I feel this truncating the songs in concerts is a common practice, but that takes away from the full enjoyment and I feel this should be not done. Please sing the song in full in future. Thanks.
@yesemkay - You're absolutely right. Dikshithar's majestic and descriptive charaNams are what make his compositions unique. The pRAsa used in this composition is stunning - it is sad that the sisters didn't sing the charaNam.
brillant last year it was ranga nAyakaM bhAvayE and this year cētaḥ śrī bāla kṛṣṇaṃ, kudos to the sister for bringing out the essance of chowka kala MD krithis with full bhave ...thanks for posting anna
