@irenenergy When you put the batteries back in after charging them, you can choose the "download" option rather than the "reset" option on the screen just like with every other Tamagotchi.

A real Tamagotchi? All electronics need their batteries changed. Sure most tama batteries last a long time but that does not mean this is some kind of fake. This one has been out for a couple of years now. ;o)

As you can see, the menus are not in English. This is Japanese and only available for retail sale in Japan but can easily be bought online.

nope. it's a japanese exclusive. Bandai has reported that they have no plans to make english versions because they believe it would be hard to market them in the western world due to the different demographics that play with tamagotchis.

It would be hard for a parent to pay $40+ for the new version of a toy they've been paying $10 for.

In Japan, tamagotchis are played with by more people than young girls. The target for tamagotchis in Japan was originally high school girls.

But if you had a choice between buying the tamagotchi color or the tamagotchi+id , Definitely get the id, since there both around the same price anyways, and the id is much more cute :)

unless you don't want one that is much more cute, lol. I bought the tmgc+c because it's more difficult, the tamagotchis can die, and it doesn't have that ridiculous crystal faceplate (which some people like, which is okay) but i think the tmgc+c has a much more universal design.
