The only member of the group OTHER than the original 4 to be mentioned in the show is JOE LONG, bass player, 1965-1975. Don Ciccone, Polci, Paiva and Lee Shapiro were very important to the band's resurgence in the mid 1970's, but the show is mainly about the early years and the 4 founding members. There has been some talk that when they were inducted into the Hall of Fame, they should included Joe Long. If that's the case, then why not those other later members, too?
i agree. all the seasons musicians should be inducted. frankie valli, bob gaudio, & all the seasons were underated. b. gaudio is a top songwriter. not everyone gets treated the same way. i'm a big f. valli 4 seasons fan. there are still 40 + unreleased songs still locked in the motown vaults since 1972.****
I heard a long version of this on Capital Radio in London back in 78 but cant find it. Maybe it was a label PR demo. Totally brilliant. Any guesses????
It was probably the album track rather than the 7" single radio edit. the album was called Helicon. Go to somewhere like Amazon and you'll find it and another LP on a reissued CD.
Hopefully with the interest generated in Frankie and The Four Seasons from the musical that's running currently at the Prince Edward theatre in London's West end, the record company will see sense and re-release the entire back catalogue properly, the 70's albums were I believe on the Warner Brothers label!
I listened to this yesterday as a havent heard it for a long time then blow me down with a feather Ken Bruce played it on radio 2 today, one of their best tracks,Can anyone upload Silver star if they have it please
Valli/Gaudio tried to market a Valli-less 4 Seasons in the '70s after hitting big with "December 1963" with Gerry Polci as the lead singer and Valli being heard later in the song. I always maintained that the 4 Seasons missed the boat by having only Valli as the lead singer for so many years. The Beatles and Beach Boys, the 4 Seasons chief rivals in the '60s, had hits with multiple lead singers. If the 4 Seasons had tried to do likewise, maybe it would have worked in the '70s.
Dit een een beestachtig goed nummer !!!!

Yeah, I have the album. It's stretched but there was an extended instrumental riff toward the end. They stretched everything in those days !!!

Reminds me of the Lea Manor disco outside Wolverhampton (UK) on a Thursday night in the 70's. Always seemed packed and hot ! Great times...
