Without putting words in anyones mouth, Fredrik has commented quite recently that the Special Defects album is on the backburner right now. I think they are focusing on Meshuggah material at the moment. So hopefully in the future there will be time and desire from Fredrik to focus on this project. Whatever makes him happy I guess. :)

Morgan told me (i met him after a drum clinic) that he was in the studio recording five hours of drums! And that Fredrick will be cutting and pasting the stuff he likes and play guitars to it. So it will probably take som time due to all the material!

Man, seeing Fredrik up close and personal like this feels like watching a rare animal on a wildlife documentary.

Sol Niger Within is one of the greatest Metal (and beyond) albums of all time and I have no doubts whatsoever that this next installment is going to totally blow it out of the water.

It doesn't have to blow it out of the water IMO. Just come close to SNW and that would be more than enough. To be better would be a welcome treat, but that won't be easy to surpass the genius of SNW.
