Dude mapex makes the wood for the beginner and intermediate sonor kits. So how can mapex sound bad and sonors sound good when half of them are the same wood from the same company? But really its tuning and proper care of the drums.

Virgil has some fast feet, but they aren't as strong as speed as Roddy's are, mainly due to the fact that virgil plays mostly Fusion and not Death Metal.

2 reasons. has 2 different sounds to play with. one of the bass drums is tuned a bit different and gives more of a thumpy sound, and the other is triggered for more attack ("click sound"). and the second reason, as mentioned, is cause it just looks more metal

Look into some of his other videos, he uses a 22'' bass and a 24'' bass, the 24'' sounds more like a wardrum to be honest, hahha, but it fits in really well in some break beats, especially in his death metal stuff.

Because the two bass drums are different. Different sizes and tuning. Notice the the main one has a hole cut and the other doesn't? He has a double pedal on the main bass so he can produce the same sound with both feet and he has a single pedal on the other bass for just playing that one when he wants that sound.
