Also, prior to 1965, you had to be white to immigrate except under rare circumstances. So, to allow millions of illegal Mexicans to stay actually runs counter to how America was built.

Now, the police can stop you for hanging outside at the park talking with your neighbor. If you have forgotten your ID or whatever at home, you can be held at the police station.
Plus, it is not the job of states to enforce immigration laws constitutionally.

@ThePinkPrince It is not hypocritical at all. It is true that America was built through immigration, but the authorities have never abandoned all controls and let in everybody. Also, prior to 1965, you had to be white to immigrate except under rare circumstances. So, to allow millions of illegal Mexicans to stay actually runs counter to how America was built.

Almost every country in the world protects its cultural identity by limiting immigration along these lines. What would the Japanese say about a million English-speaking whites trying to immigrate every year?

In Louisiana, some of my classmates have grandparents who only spoke Cajun French and they were US citizens. Attack the problem, which is corporations and other businesses who hire illegal immigrants, especially since most of these people are working for legit businesses, not criminal stuff. @VictoryCough But typically we have to show id if we are doing something fishy. The prior law stated that you could ask about their citizenship if you were arresting them for breaking the law. Now, the police can stop you for hanging outside at the park talking with your neighbor. If you have forgotten your ID or whatever at home, you can be held at the police station.
Plus, it is not the job of states to enforce immigration laws constitutionally.

@moltenchromium An effective policy would heavily fine businesses that employ illegal immigrants. If illegals could not find work here, they would not come. It's as simple as that. Targeting illegal "looking" people is a good way to destroy the 4th and 14th amendment rights of U.S. citizens. And I don't remember where the founders said that the 4th amendment only applied to citizens.

I have reviewed the bill and it is an exact mirror of the Federal law concerning illegal aliens. And for the last 20 years, There's been talk about how the minority is very close to becoming the majority. Not too long ago, A black man is elected president of the united states. Then 1070 is born.
