  • why they change the wheels on right first and after the left ones instead of changing both sides in the same time like in F1??

they could spend less time in this way...

  • @delpry Well Pit crews in F1 are not fat so they can take both left and right side at the same time compared to Nascar

  • why does nascars have 5 wheel nuts and F1 cars have 1 :L

  • pay a F1 crew.

  • this is fast considering they still use standard 5 spot individual nuts but have a look at watch?v=7SkczChH03k, V8 supercars, two cars, very fucking fast pit crew

  • @samawal3131 The video is great. The boring part was the loooong argument on F1 vs NASCAR, US vs Europe. Let's just relax and enjoy the show...

  • That is some great teamwork from the pit crew!! Fantastic job!

I lol at all the comments below on NASCAR vs F1. I'm a big F1 fan and i just wanted to see how other races do their pits. Great team work the crew! F1 just wants their cars in and out as quickly as possible. makes sense, since the laps don't go to triple digits, while NASCAR looks like in can afford that extra 10 secounds because the length of the race.

  • and thats why nascar owns F!

  • The f1 cars get in and out faster though they only have one big nut (due to open wheelism) very cool.

  • @pr3typ0ny DTM race cars also have the same system.

  • Formula 1 Pit Stops Are So Much Faster!

  • man his tyres were practically turning before the car hit the ground, very nice stop.

  • I dont get it: How is it possible to fit alle the screws so fast?!? =O

  • These guys can do four tires and gas in fourteen seconds, and they have to run around the car and change two tires at a time, with only seven mechanics over the wall. Imagine if the cars had automatic jacks and two tire changers per wheel and 20 mechanics over the wall and so on. In short, NASCAR crews pwn F1 crews.

  • @gp75motorsports naaaahh.. When they were refueling in F1 it were only the fuel they were waiting on, if nothing mechanically got wrong. Here they were only changeing they tyres. F1 teams are doing pitstops on just around 4 seconds now they don't have to refuel.

Also in F1 the hard part is not to make a good pitstop. All the teams can do that, and they are near perfect each time. The hard part is to make a fast car, so they won't let the car down by having a bad pit crew.

  • @Thedangerousdave2289 They practice that like you wouldnt believe. Its by far more harder than it looks

  • @Grogan1988 well regarding the issue of using the old fashioned jack, its not an american issue, just the sanctioning body of NASCAR.

  • dodge stockcars are the best

  • that's so cool!

  • It's unfair to compare nascar to f1 in terms of pit stops, formula 1 cars have different tires which only have one lugnut.

  • Search: "v8 supercar pitstop" and see REAL LATE MODEL AMERICAN POWERED GM LSX EFI 650HP RACE CARS getting it on with STOCK PONTIAC G8 frames with built in airjacks and only 1 lug per wheel.....Nescar needs to get a 2.0 update

  • How is it possible to argue about a fucking pit stop...

  • Yea. NASCAR and F1 are both great. I watch both.

  • @iceshiel umm im european so ive bin forced to watch formula since i was little and i guess its pretty interesting now and than when somebody crashes or gets past another one... BUT what is the point with Nascar ? they go round and round and round and round? could you explain

  • by the way *clarify and *myself.

And if you want to classify "real" racing as going around and around in circles with only one big left turn then that's your choice.

lastly, i can see grammar and Intelligence isn't a prerequisite for becoming a Nascar rear tyre changer, so which rear tyre was the one you worked on? offside or Nearside?

  • my freaking 12 year old niece can work on a f1 pit team for crying out loud...

  • for starters why do u keep refering to f1? i was talking about the Australian supercar series

and second its pointless trying to have an civilised debate with u americans like i said in one of my eariler comments u guys are just way to narromined to the point of blindness, so no matter what i say i wont change ur mind. so thumbs down me all u like but doing so will just prove my point.

btw the whole idea of a pit stop is to do a required job as fast and as efficent as possible.

  • Guys in DTM racing make it in 4 sec , but there is 3 guys per wheel.

  • Not to mention one lug nut, compared to nascars five

  • The video is 20 secs. The stop is low 14s. Clock starts when the car stops in stall, clock stops when the jack drops on left side. Very acceptable at this level. Good stop

  • only Busch series will have the extra 5 secs because of the new guys coming in busch is like for rookies that are getting used to the tracks and Nextel Cup is where it all happens speed endurance the love of racing

  • so..it took them 20 secs to finish that shit? wow!

  • It started at 0:02 and ended at 0:15. Pretty good stop when you think about it.

  • in game NASCAR Racing 2003 Season 16.1sec :P

  • They're Fast! Let's not forget that there's

5 nuts to pull off each wheels. In formula 1 it's only 1 big nut. So the nascar crew are freakin fast and they are very synchronised.

  • @VadNukem

also in this car the wheels have one big nut... anyway, they are very fast!

  • @VadNukem

And F1 cars have 1 person on each wheel.

  • @anthcybo No it's not, its actully 3 per wheel

  • @anthcybo 2 people.

  • @VadNukem They spin up the impact gun to remove the nuts before the socket is even over the nut. They move onto the next nut when it's only about 1/3rd off the stud and the nut finishes spinning off on its own at a speed of like 10 rounds per second. And that's not even as difficult as the physical fitness necessary to do it in the speed they do. Coordination is one thing, but these guys are fit, Fit, FIT. They left themselves off the ground at twice the G-force the drivers feel in car. haha

  • Wow this is amazing..if only every tire repair shop could have a nascar pit stop crew. lol

  • i know... i read the magazines they have while they change my tires...

  • @Sogirlish

We could if all tires came on rims before hand. Im pretty sure we'd be faster

  • @rkkrqqqqrssss Yeah when we do all 4 gotta change them air them up balance them if we could just pull them off and bolt up would be easy

  • I am amazed at how fast they can change tires and put gas in the car. They must have this down to a science and practice doing this. If formula one is faster than 44 seconds, thats even more impressive.

  • lol what do u know about formula 1 one... f1 pitstop are between 5 - 12 sec depemdiong on the amount of fuel added

  • 44 seconds in formula one would only happen if they changed the engine on the car. F1 pitsops take an average 8 seconds for fuel, and about 5 seconds for tires.

  • You must rememer though NASCAR limits the team to 7 Mechanics while in formula 1 teams can have like 23 people working on the car

  • Is there a rule that prevents having a bigger pit crew? They could do it like formula one, it could be amazingly quicker.

  • Yes. They can only have 7 people over the pit wall and they can only come out once the car is in the box, which in my mind makes these way, way more impressive than F1 or endurance racing stops.

  • wow.

you don't know anything do you

  • Are you serious? One big nut to 5 small nuts its kinda obvious that the NASCAR tire changers and pit crew have a tougher job.

  • or maybe its just proof that they are idiots and are making life hard for themselves.

very old fashioned way of doing it

  • Thats like saying baseball players should use more advanced bats. Sure we have the technology to make bats that hit the ball further, but we dont because its part of the sport. Same thing with NASCAR. We could make these cars ultra advanced NASA engineered futuristic machines, but we choose not to...because that isnt what the sport is about.

  • no offence mate but thats very dumb logic.

sports and sport technology is advancing all the time. if it wasnt, NASCAR drivers would still be driving cars from the 50s but they arnt.

im not hating on America this is constructive critism from an outsider looking in but u guys seem to be very narrominded with the way u guys do things u seem to have the attitude "it's our way or no way" but i cant hurt to take suggestions and ideas from around the world to make ur stuff better, u see what i mean?

  • Forgot the wor fan, SOrry for my typo mistake

  • I'm a huge Tony Stewart, And the wierd thing is that my dad has Tony for tommorows Nextel race.. Isn't that wierd?? But anyways, I woner why Micheal Waltrip slowed down when he exited his pit box

  • sweet is was right there watching the same pit stop
