While its easy to vilify poachers, that's overlooking the real problem: mainly, many of them come from impoverished countries with little legal means of escaping that poverty. Sorry, but the choice of not killing an animal because its endangered or feeding your kids ain't much of a choice at all. Until stability is brought to human society in Africa poaching is always going to be a problem.

INFO ON BLACK RHINOS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW: in tehw rold there used to be hundreds of thousands of them in about 1900 and reduced fast. there horns are the reseans there hunted for (which are similar to human fingernails) although often veryu aggresive (people say becuase they have bad eyesight and freak out when people come neare) they can be very freindly. they mothers stay with there babys for about two years and teach them alot. all of there subspices/relitives were decalred extinct

PART TWO. they are often still hunted even though illegal. there are about 2000-3600 of them left but breeding progams such as the one above are being helpful although rhinos can get to used to the human care and walk right into pocahcers. hope this helpoed! The Wild Animal Park in California should partner up with this Texas conservatory. They're EXPERTS in getting hard-to-breed animals to breed, trust me, they're AWESOME. They have a few rhinos and babies, though I'm not certain what kind exactly.

Rhinos aren't closely related to Triceratops dinosaurs at all, because they were reptilian, not mammalian. BUT they do both occupy the same sort of niche in the environment and they both have evolved similar defense strategies (large size, horns, tough hide, etc).
