  • very well played, sick

  • Can a 6 string go this low???I must learn to play this.

  • Comment removed

  • @blaztradiouz666 no lol, its hard for even a 7 string to, meshuggah uses 8 string

  • @Undecidedable FUCK!!!

  • @blaztradiouz666 ITS ITE MAN.

  • @Undecidedable Meshuggah used 7 strings tuned to A# until Nothing where in Nothing they used 7 strings dropped to F standard and after that CD they used 8 strings ever since.

  • Just so fucking awesome!

  • I die evry time i hear this!!!!Not religious...But...THANK GOD FOR METAL!!!!

  • Best. Solo. Ever.

  • So you covered my favorite meshuggah song...with my favorite ibanez guitar.

    You sir, are my god.

  • Great song, Nice job

  • this song is so outstanding it's just criminal.

    great cover man, subbed

  • @MetallicOpeth Thanks bro!!

  • Belphegor t-shirt \m/

  • man...seriously...you KICK ASS!!!! i think you are one of the best metal guitarists on the tube right now, i first saw you covering necroshine, i watched you with a friend, actually we learned the song out of you...besides the fact i like meshuggah, kudos for your playing, dude...stay metal...

  • he only makes the faces to keep his face from melting off his skull cause the music is so insane

  • he makes those faces for the attention you all give him.

  • @balboatower He's clearly enjoying himself. What's the problem?

  • take away the guitar, and this guy looks like me enjoying an afternoon on the toilet!

    - Oh, and no disrespect, but there is more than one string on that guitar, and they all work at the same time...

  • @tigyi i'm fairly certain that he knows that. however this song is still awesome, regardless of douchebag comments on the video :)

  • @ThePantheonMan Never said anything bad about the song.... but I never got to 4:09 ... just thought I'd lighten things up.

This video really needs him smashing something in the end though.

  • Always love a good Meshuggah cover.

  • Nice guitar.

  • dude! why do you know like every Meshuggah song!!!! lol

  • love the faces man..

  • Achokarlos pls play this song again with your 8 string i fucking love this song its my favorite song of all time i hope u will do it cause i liek your playing

  • Meshuggah, taking the piss out of 4/4 since 1987

  • @MikeHodd your retarded most of their songs are in 4/4

  • @joellesperance exactly that's what i meant, most of their songs are in 4 but because of where the accents are placed its not always clear

  • @MikeHodd That, and the fact some patterns are 497 bars long, hehe.

  • @MikeHodd Actually, Meshuggah have stated that most of their songs are, in fact, in 4/4. They just use unorthodox note placement.

  • Nice man sounds great

  • Thank you very much for having agree my video comment and for your comment on it too !

You're awesome, fu***** crazy and you love good music ! Keep on rocking ;)

  • I like cheese , I like cheese very much

  • @CrazyDave313 I'd give him the job. In fact, i would make him the boss.

He listens and understands Meshuggah, so he clearly is smarter than you.

  • Man I need to practice playing guitar more. It be nice if I could make my guitar sound somewhat good.

  • I would just like to inform everyone that 'youwishyoucouldplay' has pretty much gone around every meshuga vid and commented against them.

To me, that's kinda lame. Either he has no life and get off on that sorta thing or, he secretly likes them and doesn't wanna show it.

So sort it out mate ;-)

  • @Valentineskidd There's that no life retort again!!! LOL. I love my life.

  • I would give my soul for an 8 string guitar. I would prolly never leave my room if i got one.. This guy though...is fucking great.

  • @dannykahun Thjis guy is nebver going to make a dime as a guitarist. hahahaha

  • KILLER GUITAR DUDE!!!! (i guess the cover was ok too, lol)

    who makes it?

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay Maybe he just plays because it makes him feel good and he don't want to make a dime in the biz!!! Its called letting your spirit out, yours has apparently been bottled up for so long it has soured. You are a hateful son of a bitch and you need to either wake up, or kill yourself!!!

  • @pineal2012 How could it feel good when it sounds so wrong?

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay Then why are you listening douche wad???

  • @pineal2012 My mute button is on at all times since the first time I tried to listen. That lasted 15 seconds tops. I knew I was listening to a loser. I've got industry ears that are impeccably tuned to great music. This certainly fails at great music.

  • @rrdrums0110 SERIOUSLY YOU AGAIN? GO HANG YOURSELF AND STOP TROLLING MESHUGGAH VIDEOS!!

  • @SixxHundredSixtySixx Dude!!!! I am no guitar player but I could learn these simpleton riffs in one week. Is that all you and meshuggah have? No solos? No chords. You and Meshitta suck.

  • @rrdrums0110 ... get help ... theres something wrong with you

  • @SixxHundredSixtySixx What you play here on guitar is amatuer as all get out. simple ass riffs.

  • @rrdrums0110 lol why dont you try? go on I dare ya, go on :)

  • @rrdrums0110 Your "industry ears" need some tuning then. Or perhaps they're set to pop music?

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay lol you think this sounds wrong? XD you're so epic

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay this comment makes very little sense. Please leave the internet.

  • begining sounds like rational gaze

  • You're so good at playing guitar!!!!

............ To bad you're better and making a douchebag out of yourself.

  • @Johannson6990 wtf ? a douchbag why?

  • Nice dude

  • Awesome!!!!!!!

  • The facial expressions show you're trying to impress to hard. You look like a fucking idiot.

  • @Riverboy1986 takin it a bit too seriously? geniuses can play however they want.

  • @Riverboy1986 Hes a very comical guy, i got the same impression, of course that was BEFORE he blew my mind =P his Pantera covers are spot on.

  • @Riverboy1986

Grammar Nazi! "To" should've been "too." Now who's the fucking idiot? Too bad you have no sense of humor either. Lighten it up a notch and you might actually enjoy life.

  • @kamu0404

haha. you seem like a cool person. good "burn" haha.

  • @Riverboy1986 get some fresh air you nerd

  • @Riverboy1986 haha lighten the fuck up, this guy is beyond unbelievable considering it does all by ear, so I think he earned the right to make stupid ass faces while he does it

  • ke fiera eres jodido!

  • You look like an arse.

  • That guitar solo at 4:08 is beautiful.

  • Hahaha, the faces are the best part of the video.

  • you're the best.

    i have one wish thou.

    never stop!

  • I honestly can't listen to this song now without wishing you were playing along, the intro just isn't heavy enough now!

good shit man, keep it up.

  • 0.15 to 0.20 You look little like Doc Oc from Spiderman

  • awesome

  • Your expressions make me wanna smack you in the face... lol. Other than that good cover

  • they pull off different rhythms at the same time - polyrhythms i believe its called. But nonetheless its proven successful for them.

  • From what I can tell, they play a 4/4 beat as well as another beat overlapping. The cymbals sounds 4/4, but the bass drum doesn't (and neither do the guitars).

Somehow that makes it all seem far more complicated.

  • Dude most of their stuff is in 4-4 its just how its frased is what messes with your mind. I actually diddnt find this out myself my friend who has been playing guitar for 10 years told me so and if im wrong dont hate me or give me shit about it

  • yeah your right they play in 4-4 most of the time and if its not it wasnt because they did it on purpose these guys arent world class musicians they just play music they like and they admit to not being the greatest either they play weird and they call it rythmic exercise because a lot of the shit is more based on their right hand technique than anything but the drummer clearly keeps a 4-4 time almost all the time listen the symbals time isnt always kept by a base drum people

  • fucken sick. love meshuggah, singer is kinda blah, but the guitarist with the 8 string is baddass

  • @MayCryBlood666

    both guitarists use 8 strings

  • Classic video, dude. I tend to pull faces and bob my head with the riffs when I play Meshuggah.

  • why the smartass thing when you get it wrong anyway!

  • even thogh the majority of the song stays in the first 3 or 4 frets, the patterns are ridiculous, and its very impressive to remember all of it.

  • @drsmokebtch Plus its heavy as fuck.

  • strangest facemoves ever :P

    nice one!

  • MESHUGGAH = Craziest Timing EVER!

  • yeah,,4/4 fucking insane..not..

  • I guess you are OBVIOUSLY unfamiliar with their music. Not just the guitars. But in almost any song, besides NMCC, TRY to predict the snare drum pattern. Sometimes it's replaced with a cymbal. Probably too technical for you to understand dominiccss?

  • Actually I'm a huge fan of their music, I also play drums and know most of the drum patterns for their songs. It just frustrates me when people talk about how crazy their time signatures are -- because most of their music is in 4-4.

  • The once again, you OBVIOUSLY don't know anything, and you say you do. 4-4 my fucking asshole.

  • lol.. dude. Set a metronome to the same bpm of one of their songs to a 4/4 count of crotchets and you will see..

  • Absolutely correct.

  • Stop talking. You're wrong.

  • @dominiccss

    AMEN

  • @AxisGravity Can you believe how fucking hard it is to mentally keep up with the timing?? Jeez.. I about killed my self trying lol

  • @AxisGravity shitist timing ever you mean... its just technical bollox, what about melody, structure, etc... in this music its non existent.... get some Wintersun down your neck

  • @6EELZE6U6666 its a talk about textures and ambients, the melody is inherent to the feelings of the listener and is much more deeper than ever wintersun would ever dream.

    Wintersun sucks, meshuggah wins.

  • @dimeillusion haha yeah WHATEVER!

  • @6EELZE6U6666 its a talk about textures and ambients, the melody is inherent to the feelings of the listener and is much more deeper than ever wintersun would ever dream.

    Wintersun sucks, meshuggah wins.

  • @AxisGravity for an established metalband yes, meshuggah rule :) live the groove

  • @AxisGravity 4/4?

  • @AxisGravity

The genius of Meshuggah is they play mostly 4/4. As a drummer it took me a while to figure it out...but yeah. Haake is genius.

  • Dude fucking nice. What tuning are you in anyway, F standard?

  • F# B E A D G B E

  • actually its F : P

  • Actually it's not, just Google 8 string tuning.

  • no this song hes playing here is F standard, his open B string is F

  • Bud, just go Google it. In order for it to be in proper tune, his B would be tuned to an F#.

  • so your saying in this video he isn't tuned to F?

  • Through all the Meshuggah videos and lessons and tabs I've learned from, I think I've only seen one or two of their songs from way back when a half step down. So, as a final statement, I'll say that the standard 8 string tuning is F# B E A D G B E and Meshuggah are the kings of metal. And if Straws Pulled at Random is a half step down, then my bad, and I'll shut up :)

  • @kilyatwice meshuggah tunes down one half step(as always) or more on their 8 strings,it's the only way to cover them, drop Eb on Perpetual Black Second and i believe drop D on their remix of rammstein's benzin, fuck google i have the 8 string model ibanez and it's F,Bb,Eb,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb,Eb

  • Where'd you get the guitar?

I myself would like to order it.

  • @HaldirMark check ebay out,i got mine for 1,400 with hard case brand new, don't buy anything without at least the last several digits of the serial listed as there are counterfits going around

  • What exactly is the model you have?

I know what they have, but I want to know what the consumer version is.

  • @HaldirMark the one i have is the RG 2228,there is now an S Series version of the 8 string but it's not a Prestige Series guitar,i will go ahead and tell you playing a non prestige version of an instrument is like driving a V6 version of a car after driving the V8 GT version

  • You've lost me twice, sir. I don't follow cars, so that analogy was lost on me. Added to that, what is the difference between the Prestige Series, and non prestige series?

  • the difference is the pickups and necks are much nicer on Prestige instruments, the prestige neck is based on the 1990's model necks, super thin super flat profiles, the pickups are premium and just all around better sounding

  • Thank you very much, sir. I've checked out the price and converted it into my own currency. I've tallied it to around 8400. "/

It's alot, but worth it, I'm sure.

  • Dude, my friend got the Jeff Loomis Signature for less than $800. Perfect condition, had new strings already, came with 2 packs of strings, the Loomis hardcase, and a quality strap. I was really surprised.

  • @HaldirMark "This is my 1st video playing my Ibanez UV777P (Steve Vai 7 strings model)." description reading ftw ;>

  • D'you know... The funny thing is that I wasn't talking to the OP of this video. Next time, try reading the whole conversation before entering a condescending comment.

  • he should try bleed

  • yes this guy can play very well.. he is very versatile. i just cant seem to get past the extremely annoying expressions he makes. its just kind of bothersome.. great playing though.

  • plainly amazing

  • crazy dude.

  • Perfect............

  • ahahhaahahahahha ti si zle bre!! bulgaria loves meshuggah!!

  • awesome cover try learning future breed machine

  • damn youre a freaking ANIMAL!!!

  • its definitely his facial expressions that help :)

  • i have the same belphegor shirt cool

  • 5/5 just for the facial expressions.

Dude, I'm thinking maybe they are your way of maintaining a sense of the beat. I've tried this myself and I have some serious issues to figure out how the polyrhythms revolve around the 4/4.. maybe I should try making them faces :)

Awesome cover dude, really good job!

  • When I listen to the original recording, it sends shivers down my spine.

You managed to do the same. Good job.

  • Same here! Besides, awesome cover of awesome song :)

  • Every Meshuggah song is like some kind of puzzle that needs to be figured out. I don't know about you people, but I literally feel more intelligent after working out a song by 'Shuggah

    All Hail.

  • man you are so fucking right!

  • this main riff is really out of this world

sounds so groovy like a space alien music ;-D

  • Much respect goes to you bro. Anyone who can play this song, is a fucking genius. Thats just my opinion.

  • Totally Fucking Awsome! best caracter!

  • dude hes way sharp

  • no, he just plays the higher harmony in the intro

  • F standard everyone

  • Correct. 8-string standard tuning, down a half step

  • what's that tuned to?

  • i think its in Bb

thats what everyone has told me

  • it's F.

  • insane-standard

  • Sweet

  • Champ. Nuff said.

  • If you think this guy makes faces, check out David MeShow Best Guitar Improvisation Ever 3
