  • love Zimerman's eyes at 00:43 :D

  • Excellent performance.

  • :| <3

  • Que técnica!!!!

  • Flawless.Zimmerman Rules!!

  • ¡Maravillosos!!!

  • Zimerman is an amazing pianist. I've never heard a better Rachmaninov 2nd concerto than Zimerman's, and the same goes for his recordings of the Chopin ballades and the Schubert impromptus. His Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, Rachmaninov... well basically his PLAYING is phenomenal. A depth of emotion matched by technical wizardry that makes the most difficult of phrase flow like water under his hands.

  • Leonard Bernstein is the place of the bigs artists of the history.Toscanini,Klemperer,Stokowski,Szell,Reiner,Koussevitzky,Cantelli,Mravinsky,Bernstein..!

  • @jorgeliebermann

Ha ha ha Bernstein is a clown. What are you talking about, an artist?????? Waving a stick around has absolutely nothing to do with art.

Did he compose the music? No.

Did he play the music? No.

Did he teach any of the musicians how to play or read music? No.

So what did this useless parasite actually do?

    Three words, absolutely fuck all.

    Some artist LOL.

  • @stickitupyapipe hope you're joking, otherwise you should be really ashamed of your words....

  • @minimalisminmusic Vhy? Vould zat be anti-semitic? LOL.

I´m dead serious actually, and ashamed is the last thing I am.. I would be ashamed had I not been totally honest.. Honesty is nothing to be ashamed of. Being a fraud is something to be ashamed of, so it´s Bernstein who should be ashamed, not me. Everything he does, all his expressions and movements are designed for maximumum effect and is pure show. He´s performing for the audience and the camera. Directing the music he is not. Sorry.

  • I was with Lenny twice.In Buenos Aires in 1958,in one concert as 2nd. conductor of NYPh (the titular was Mitropoulos).The 2nd.,in a dinner at Alexander Brailowsky`s home,in NYC,in 1974.(107 East 6.....Street)

  • Amazing!

  • Beethoven and Zimerman, two giants. Bernstien? Looks like he´s stiring a pot of soup and contributes nothing to this masterpiece. He would have made a great cook, and should have stuck to writing musical scores for Hollywood musicals like west side story.

  • Very Impressive!

  • 小提琴超不專業 還放砲 太扯了吧

  • Nautittavaa , melodista ja mestarillisesti esitetty.

  • asomborso!

  • Ha! I always knew Zimerman as a Chopin interpreter and I knew this concert in other versions. This is so beautifully played, with such grace and precision, that it sounds like it's Chopin playing Beethoven!!!! I know that whom the former didn't actually like Beethoven all that much, but for me this is piano bliss!

  • Oh I just love that middle section...

  • The best, clearest recording of this I've heard...and not too fast. I'm working on this meself and find this helpful.

  • Yes, polish pianists are the best in the world.Rubinstein, Zimerman,Godowski,Paderewski,Hoffman, Blechacz....

  • Beethoven, Zimerman & Bernstein... what a combination!

  • @habana999 jo aber absolut!!!!

  • OMG hahaha :43 priceless amazing pianist :D

  • Zimermann... Every thing he plays is perfectly clean, precise and so expressive.. I am studying the II Chopin's ballade, and his one is the best version.. He is simply the best!

  • @AnnalisaFerrara86 E' vero! E' un pianista leggendario. Anche nelle parti più scabrose del concerto n°2 di Brahms diretto da Bernstein riesce ad eseguire la partitura in maniera fantastica. Un genio!

  • I would say , his Chopin is better than Beethoven . I didn't say this performance is bad .

  • To me one of the finest pianist of all time. Impecable playing and brilliance. Absolutely incomparable!

  • THAT TRILL AT :42 IS SCARY.

  • This piano sounds different than the ones in most of the other versions I've heard -- it's much brighter. Still amazing, though. 5 stars for Zimerman, Bernstein, and Beethoven.

  • Don't agree.........for Beethoven 6 stars at least ;-)

  • Wow. Fantastic piece of music, played by a brilliant pianist and conducted by an outstanding conductor.

    Brilliant.

  • I found a good version of Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3. But i cant post it, so this is how you'll find it:

    go to:

    M O N T E V E R D I . T V / R C O

and then navigate to 'watch movies'. Its the first one on the list.

Also, this christmas, on the 25th, there will be a live internet broadcast of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra there.

    You're all welcome ;).

  • Rewelacyjnie

  • zimerman looks much better with his beard :P

but he is always an amazing pianist!!

  • Zimerman is amazing. His fluency, and ease of difficult passages amazes me!

He is just, one of the greatest modern day pianists.

    Beautiful.

  • znakomite

  • Zimerman ist unglaublich sympatisch. ich mag sein Spiel und seine Ausstrahlung.

  • who is the director?

  • Bersntein

  • Bersntein

  • And also Zimerman's performances of the Beethoven concerti with Bernstein during the 1980s were critically acclaimed.

  • He is playing with the Wiener Philharmoniker (Vienna Philharmonic) under the baton of Leonard Bernstein.
