  • Pra começa o dia mto bem...

  • 'another shutter slut' , 'ancient nipple shrinking' 'Kodak whore' - think it's fair to say Susie D's not a big fan of **ahem** 'glamour' photography ! ....... good lyric mind....

  • @rahman020264 aaaaha! so anti-FB.

  • it"s wierd if you know how it feels to have many redlight dark room of yourself all over at least250 private collections of me 30 yrs ago. i wonder who has them but i always used disguise and let client name me.

  • THATS HER BEST SONG....OMG I LOVE IT......

  • Love this one.

  • So actually Madonna and Lady Gaga are plagiarising......

  • A long time ago, I once had a band called The Kodak Whores which I named after the lyric in this song. There were three of us and then after one year we changed the name - well, just one letter actually, to The Kojak Whores, in tribute to Telly Savalas who had just died in 1994. Anyway, SATB remain probably my all time favourite group, ever. ...... Their albums and singles are ALL fantastic, wish they were given more recognition even after all this time.

  • Yes - Yamaha CS5 rules! Such a great little synth for not alot of $! Been listening to this album alot lately - too cool.

  • I missed the line

"An ancienr nipple shrinking" that comes before "Of an ancicent kodak whore winking" you get the idea been a while lol

  • The Sagging Half wit sister

    Pretty pretty picture

Of an ancient Kodak whore winking

    till the apeture shuts

    Too much exposure

    Another shutter slut wincing

  • great song and all....but what is it about?

  • Sexy song <3

  • too mucch exposure

  • Siouxie ur a baby doll

  • for some reason this reminds me of "Body Double"

  • Great Electro song classic

  • One of my fav songs from siouxsie and the banshees

  • Santogold/her "producers" did rip this off.

  • Every time I walked past one of those horrible Glamour Shots places in the mall this ran through my head.

  • This sounds like music from the original Assault on Precinct 13 from back in the 70s, only with singing.

  • @jrmetmoi Yes it does a little bit.

  • 00:56 Lady Di what died...........

  • I always thought this song was about models getting fucked up by getting so wrapped up in their careers haha. But it's an awesome and super catchy song lol

  • I don't understand why people are saying "music today sucks!!" That's not true at all. Keep looking--you WILL find something you like. Siouxsie & the Banshees didn't sound like ANYONE from their own era; you can make comparisons to The Cure, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, etc.. but at the end of the day, Siouxsie, and ESPECIALLY a song like this, is BEYOND time period. No music, from before Siouxsie or after, will ever sound like this.

  • @tcorc324 dude music today does suck it has njo sole or heart just fake productions

  • Amazing, and i think this music could sound great in german!

  • sexxx

  • i remember stealing the album,lol

  • @nw11 me too

  • Great Electro/rock track by Siouxsie at a time when it was not common (1980). This is pretty avant garde. I discovered this via Santigold ; James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem also loves the Banshees. Red light is very original in their répertoire: something in the vein of Suicide, Kraftwerk or even the early Human League (the experimental Human League not what they did after of course). I also recommend the elctro atmospheric Lunar Camel, which is another track of their "Kaleidoscope" album.

  • @boomercut cold wave/electro was fairly popular in '80...

gary numan was an intl star, john foxx sold well, inspiring tons of others...

human league, charles de goal, cab volt...

    odw, group:xex and tons more...

try cosmic overdose ( swe )

and ceramic hello ( canaduh )

  • n.n hermosa cancion n.n

    siuoxsie is beautiful <3

  • Siouxsie Sioux and Robert Smith are two sides of the same sexy coin.

  • Agreeed!

  • never heard this song n Im a Siouxsie fan.. . I envision this song to be on a mix to be followed by Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead... love it

  • she is amazing. great song

  • N!!!!!!!CE

  • speaking of Venetian Blinds...Theres a Gothic/Darkwave/Synthpop group not well known who deserved more attention in the 80's named Frozen Autumn. Inspired by Bauhaus, DM & Clan of Xymox. They sound similar to Clan of Xymox with mostly Male vocals, they had a great hit called Venetian Blinds with the female keyboard player on vocals. Check them out

  • THIS SONG IS SEX.

I WANT HAVE SEX WITH MY REFLEX.

    ahahahah perfect sound..mix.

  • why would this song make you wanna stalk someone?

    you're fuckin weird

  • Santogold "Superman" - woooooow

  • I think this is my favourite song of all time.... ever!

  • Venetian blinds were big in 1980

  • Sexy shit...

  • The music track is simple but at the same time oh so powerful. A wonderfully written track. I'd live for 200 years and I still wouldn't be able to compose a song as good as this one. Anybody can write a song but adding magic to it is another thing.

  • I could play this over and over and over and over again!

  • an album called kaleidoscope, but i'm only seeing black and hot pink.

  • quite possibly one of the scariest songs they did

  • somebody should make a slideshow of that model gia and have this song playing in the background

  • Santogold's "Superman": a total homage/ripoff of this song. Compare. Seriously!

  • @djsabor yeah i agree that's like 100% ripoff of this song! lol

  • @djsabor LOL Siouxsie should sioux her.

  • @djsabor Santo inspired by Siouxsie. I like it.

  • @djsabor: Santi admitted that Superman was inspired by this!

  • @djsabor Yeah she's stated that she loves this song and used it for Superman.

  • @djsabor Homage, yes. Rip off, no.

  • @djsabor probably a homage. santi is too smart/hip of an artist to pull such a blatant ripoff

  • YEs!!!!

  • This was the inspiration for my 1986 art O level exam, sadly it resulted in a D grade. Classic 80's alternative track though.

  • Fuck the '30s music introduction.

  • @dubbyah1 rofl

  • <3

  • Hypnotic.

    A goth classic.

No airplay in The States (‘cept on fringe alt radio).

Echoes of Ian Curtis and Joy Division’s best goth

(Isolation, 24 hrs, Dead Souls, New Dawn Fades).

Daggers into the disco era of the late 1970s!!!

  • I don't know why I'm in love with her !!!

  • one of my personal favourite Siouxsie songs/videoclip, nice!!! :-)

  • See the red light rinsing, another shutterslut.... wincinggggggggggggggggggggggg!

  • this intro is quite possibly the most annoying thing ive ever encountered in my life

  • @trilobitewhatevr

    You're a litte over-sensitive then, aren't you?

  • I love these people!

  • BEST.she is so fucking hot.met her 3 ytimes, seen them 6 times.............Im sorry for your divorce Siouxsie and Budg... :(

  • I worked her stage show at the Masquerade in Atlanta several years ago - she is one of the most kind and gracious people I've ever met. Truly a super star.

  • Reminds me of Iggy Pops "The Idiot" album sound

  • @mrlee192 All the London punks including Siouxsie were Iggy Pop fans I think.

  • Love the use of the synthesizer in this song. Can be from Forbidden Planet or Holloween (original), sets such a great mood for the lyrics.

  • Tu me fais vibrer susan !!!!!!!!!! mon coeur tremble !!!

  • This song makes me want to stalk someone. lol

  • @ronniesmoons it's off the wall comments like this that make my eyes go really big like a cartoon and are also why i love youtube.

  • @dean0waterz lol. Yeah, I know, what I said was pretty off the wall. Seriously though, this song makes me want to go stalking. haha

  • @ronniesmoons this song makes me want to sex someone....

  • @chloedayglo Someone tat you stalked first, right? lol!

  • @ronniesmoons I'm callin John Walsh!

  • @ronniesmoons your parents must be so proud

  • @tfwotfwotfwo the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

  • If you went to Fire&ICE....you went to the best club in the world. Too bad Miami wasn't on the map like it is today.

  • this and pluto drive used to get them on the dancefloor at Fire n Ice

big fan of the creatures and Siouxsie and the Banshees

I think peepshow was one of their gems siouxsie always seemed to remind me of the dark strange demented girls I've been drawn to in my childhood with the voice of a Siren two of my favorite tracks: an execution, and ornaments of gold

  • Siouxsie - you made this world a better place with this song!

  • Beautiful goth undertones, One of the coolest videos ever.

  • I like that she looks a bit like a drag queen in this video.

  • MAN so this is where the Santigold song My Superman comes from!!! check it they are sooooo similar

  • @sophiekraig Yup. She's a fan

  • @sophiekraig yep.

  • Buddy I know they are a punk band-especially in the 70's-early 80's. I have seen them in concert 4 times in NYC and some of their later music was a bit goth. Don't get your thong in knots. I have everthing they have done including THE CREATURES which I've seen twice in concert.

  • the Yeah Yeah Yeahs wish they could be Siouxsie Sioux and The Banshees

  • I love the lines "See the red light rinsing, another shutter slut wincing." and "Kodak whore winking." The latter reminds me of Paris Hilton ;)

  • My ears went weird when I didn't hear Paradise Place straight afterwards.

  • ahh "the dance"

  • KUTMAH FRESH

  • This was for me the perfect song on that album. A new take on the electronic minimalism of The Normal. Brittle, sharp but incredible pop! And a great dance song too.

  • @djbethell Great observation.Someone gave me the Normal's TVOD/Warm Leatherette 45 seemingly back in the stone age.I can hear similaties now.

  • @exeuroweenie /watch?v=5v7FZwyOdvU

  • @djbethell Awesome,thanks.

  • talk about decades ahead of ur time,,,

  • FANTASTIC!

  • i can't help but see a striking similarity between this and ladytron's seventeen video. both are totally fantastic IMO.

  • YA LO SABEN!!!!!! NO AY PRETEXTOSS!!!!!

  • She could have been a model too she's got the look..unusual but captivating, striking looks etc ones you dont forget...is this her angst?

  • I was introduced to this goth group in 1979 my first year of high school. I've been a fan since. I have all their albums and videos. Seen them in concert times. and The Creatures twice. This song was cool then and now.

  • @parksloper7 ...If you called Siouxsie a "goth" she would kick your fuckin ass!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @svagrod Indeed-she's her own girl.Siouxsie is pure Siouxsie.I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • @exeuroweenie Exactly she was at the beginning of Punk and anyone that really knows ...she hates the term "GOTH" and so does Robert Smith LOL .For anyone to call them a Goth band don't know didley about Siouxie or The Cure.Take care.

  • @svagrod pure punk!! no goth

  • i cant help but think of Frankfurter from rocky horror picture show in this video...i know I'm terrible.

  • inspired santigold's 'Superman'

  • Dirty

  • I wish we could get an alliance between Soft Cell and the Old Banshees lineup and lead an eighties counter-revolution!!!

  • Why is this song not a single?

  • One of the most stylish videos of all time... love how she trashes models.. 'shutter sluts'!

  • This is an incredible video considering the time. If she was hot it would be perfect.

  • @ultrasonoro

    You're a fool.

  • @ultrasonoro you are insane. siouxsie is white-hot.

  • @johnnyforjohnny you bet shes HOT!

  • I have loved this for almost 10 years. I am late to the game.!

  • I always loved this song, one of my faves of this album

  • I like this video, its one of a kind! so 1980 retro look!

  • cool song

  • I can hear Soft Cell doing this song.

  • I play this song when i wanna scare someone.

It works everytime. I love freakin out all the squares with no taste in music.

  • @Niafi11 you are more than correct.

  • un po' di vecchio goth anni 80...linea di basso semplice ma ossessiva, secondo me il punto di contatto fra i Cure e i Banshees...

  • whats is this song about? ive always wondered.

  • Oh yeah!Great great great.

  • This song is the best!!!

  • Christ how much do I love this!

  • all the putdown comments seems to miss the whole point :The Banshees were a FUN group!!!

  • santigolds "superman" was highly influenced by this song! sounds way too similar... but of course this is better

  • When i'm 6 foot under all my banshees stuff is coming with me so i can still listen to it while i'm stoking those fires !

  • It seems no one else finds this song to be as gloriously sleazy-sounding as I do... but those are the words that spring to mind! And, by the way, that is not a slight, it's praise for the ambiance!

  • @guigne01 I just got back from a gay-lesbian-tranny pride show. This song came to mind. My outfit was inspired by The Cure and Siouxie.

  • @guigne01 When I heard this song for the first time, my roommate was playing it. That was back in 2001? Yeah, I agree. This song has the sleaze. And in a good way. =D

  • @bongrocker oh u a newbie...

  • @guigne01 This is a great stripper song from one of the few great bands from this period. Another great stripper song from another one of the few great bands from this period is The Sisters of Mercys' Floor Show. "Animal Sweat From the Animal Glands." QUICK QUICK QUICK QUICK SLOW SEE THOSE BABIES GO GO GO GO GO!!!!! Echo and then 'The Teenage Werewolf From London' OWOOOHHH!!! LOL

Yeah this song is definitely, gloriously sleazy-sounding and the ambiance is the kind you find in a strip club.

  • @guigne01 Sorry, PAGANS not BABIES. Got carried away.

  • @guigne01 Oh, I do. Probably before I really understood it, even!

  • Sioux 4 da win!! THis probably my fav Sioux traxx. I picture this as a soundtrack to a Serial killa movie. Where the killer is taking snap shots, and developing his film/pix =)
