  • Boss cat. All the way down. Good ... good...give the maestro a crown.

  • Jack why do you do this to me ...this song and "the news" makes me want to cry

  • always, when people ask me why I like Jack Johnson, I say: his songs are so relaxed but their meaning still makes you think. now I can't stop relaxing from JJ

  • This song would have 0 dislikes lol

  • If you made this, you're the shit. THANK YOU SIR.

  • This kinda sounds like an acoustic Santana song

  • Takes you to a different place - relaxing, refreshing, chilled :)

  • Though nobody will probably read this or maybe read this and inore it.

I have a dream, to become a singer. I know this is a long shot but can anyone one of you give a minute of your day to watch my video? Please?

Maybe the thumbs up button would also make this noticebale?

  • @MsMyko22 ok will do :)

  • TRUE STORY.

James somethin or another, killed someone because he got mad. the police couldn't arrest him due to some court fuck up so they decided to blame the dad for no reason, the dad covered for the kid and the police went straight to the media. after they said they don't control the kids actions, the police were left speachless. one got away with murder.

  • huh i aint got no blood on my hands! (with a strange accent)

  • The message of this song is so deep. Jack Johnson is a musical genius :)

  • @flipyPro it is and he is :)

  • it could also be talking about how passing blame is so tempting just like a cookie jar

  • Is this about the columbine shooting?

  • @snc020193 because everyone is blaming everyone else in his lyrics similar to the childrens game Cookie Jar

  • its called "cookie jar" because its a game where you blame each other on who ate the cookies and this song is about blame

  • this song is so deep...you have to be smart to get it lol

  • I don't know if I gonna be burried or burned, but this is what I want people to hear...

And Cookie Jar is what cookie jar is...

  • simple question there is a game where you say that another one has stolen the cookie jar this person have to say that he didnt do it and then he or she has to say who has stolen it

he has named the sing this way becauce nobody wan t to accept that they have the blame on the thing which happened too!!

thats the reason why this song is thausend ways better than i don t like mondays because the interpret of i don t like mondays is just saying "there is no reason" such a stupid song...-.-

  • @snc020193 he probs named it cookie jar because as i kid me and my friends would put our hand in the cookie jar and the when one of manned up and stole a coockie everyone said it wasnt me and thats wat everyone said in this song so i see y its name coockie jar

  • @longboarding678 Person 1:"It was me that took the cookies from the cookie jar, it was (person 2) that took the the cookies from the cookie jar." Person 2: "Who me?" Everyone else: "yes you!" Person 2: "Couldn't be!" ......

    It is a child's game/song.

  • This is fucking amazing. The lyrics have so much meaning! Jakc Johnson is my favorite singer EVER and always will be!!!!!!!!! :D

  • thats kinda hard to explain..

  • I love it :D

I dont know why its called "Cookie Jar" tho.....

  • @ktkd1007 it's called cookie jar because that is a game for little kids were they would say "who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?" and then they would say someone's name that is playing the game in which he would act suprised the chose him and then he must blame someone else for stealing the cookie form the cookie jar and this song uses that game to explain how messed up the world is.

  • @scoutwhatdoggie: Thank you! =] That makes much sence ha.

  • @ktkd1007 Person 1:"It was me that took the cookies from the cookie jar, it was (person 2) that took the the cookies from the cookie jar." Person 2: "Who me?" Everyone else: "yes you!" Person 2: "Couldn't be!" ......

    It is a child's game/song.

  • @ktkd1007 I think it is because of the phrase, "caught with your hand in the cookie jar." In other words, caught red handed, or in the act of doing something.

  • @ktkd1007 its because in the song "who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?" everbody you ask denies stealing the cookie, and in this song everyone is denying being responsible. Do you get it now?

  • @ktkd1007 They call it cookie jar cuz Jack Johnson named it after the children's song Cookie Jar.

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?

____ stole the cookie from the cookie jar?

Who me? Couldn't be! Wasn't me!

I had to write about what this song was about in Language Arts and now I love this song :)

  • @ktkd1007 because of that children's clapping game where you put the blame on who stole the cookie's from the cookie jar

  • @ktkd1007 hes saying its like getting caught reaching into a cookie jar and then denying it and blaming it on someone else

  • @95laxbeast

It could also refer to the children's song, when you sing "who stole the cookie from a cookie jar (then say someone's name)" and you pass the song to each person. It's continuous, no one will take the blame, they keep passing it along.

  • @snc020193 That's exactly what it's about. Good call
