Eight Cigarettes in two minutes! Whoever in the Tobacco Industry bribed whoever put the Ciggies into this flick should give a bonus. Marketing Cigarettes to people with low self-esteem is a major goal of Big Tobacco. Showing smokers who fit the self-image of losers is psychologically very cunning. These people, basically are Cig-smoking role models for people who see themselves as worthless misfits (but "cool").
@megaswenson The film is set in the area of Paris in the 1930s. it makes sense for there to be a lot of scenes involving cigarettes, because in the 1930s it was all to excess. The cigarette companies had nothing to do with the film, it was a historical fact that was featured in the film. Excessive smoking existed, as well as excessive drinking and excessive sex existed in the 1930s. It's called "historical accuracy." Smoking existed long before there were cigarette companies.
@megaswenson it's set in the 30's, at least that's when he was in Paris isn't it? everybody smoked, no-one really knew it caused cancer then Paris hipsters, of course they are all smoking
Cancer is the #1 hoax played upon the West. Cancer's cure was discovered in 1902 by embryologist Dr. John Beard of Scotland. See the film: "World Without Cancer." Cancer, like scurvy & pellagra, is a vitamin-deficiency disease. Malignant cells & pre-embryonic cells (trophoblasts) are one-and-the-same. Indeed: cancer & embryos are new life. Errant healing cells = cancer.

I'll never forget this film...I envisioned this when I read Tropic of Cancer for the first time. Henry still blows me away.
