Well , it not easy for dairy farmer though, they still need to feed the cattle and their family for the extra profit they earn. If this continue more dairy farm would get shut down and there will be a shortage of dairy product
this has to happen or there will be no ag of any sort dairy, beef or crop and the reality the economy in the big city depends on farming if dairy products market fell then will be a flood of cattle to the slaughter plants forcing the beef industry to tank and very possibly fail then what there would be so much grain we couldn't turn it all into fuel or even eat it all. there goes crops you would see a major failure in economy if things suck now just wait.
I have just checked the stats and over 20,000 children starve to death EVERY day... I understand the frustration and plight of the farmers but this action cannot be justified.........Imagine if the nurses refused to treat patients, or teachers refused to educate pupils, or fireman ignored all emergency calls........Their has to be a negotiated settlement to this problem, dumping millions of litres of milk is not the answer.
It will be the answer when every european milk producer do the same 30 days. We are not santa claus. We are farmers and we have to get money of our work so we can feed our cattle and family. We cant go to office begging sosial subsidies to survive for next week!
Whining foreigners. Either you believe in capitalism or you don't. The law of supply & demand. Your Euro freaks have too much supply. You have too many milk producers. Some of the milk farmers have to go into another business.
What is Europe's solution to all of it's problems? Simple.
The point is they have nothing to loose, the world governments have destroyed all of our economies to promote use of one currency and finally chip us all like dogs. Sad to see the waste, but it was a very effective way to let people around the world know that they too are in distress.
@oldies90s Its the European Union. They only care about the big companies with all their money! Like Intel and Tesco who donated millions towards the yes votes in the Lisbon treaty referendum. The no vote only got a few thousand.
If you ant fair prices and fair wages you will never get it while members of the EU.
Think of it this way - did you hear about the plight of these people before? I know I hadn't, and I'm betting that's not because they haven't tried. This is their last resort, and it's the first time they are being heard at large. No, there wasn't another way.
hahaha just keep the semen and pay your taxes.

If this milk was used to feed those poor people dying in Africa would be a better than wasting it like its of no use for humans.

Let me share with you what Heraclitus of Ephesus said about this almost 2,600 years ago (both in his native Greek and English translation):
Βλὰξ ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ παντὶ λόγῳ ἐπτοῆσθαι φιλέει.
A stupid man loves to be puzzled by every discourse.

this is human stupidity at the highest.
you can simply send the milk to africa for free. the effects would have been the same.
poor cows...

kinda true, never thought of that
TheTroubledTroubador 2 years ago
You're wrong, it's not the same effect
To draw attention of mass media and people, it is necessary to shock them, this is why farmers make that.
don't forget :
all this milk is their work and their income, it's not funny for them.
oldies90s 2 years ago 8
to me, nothing could ever be worse than throwing food or drinks onto the ground.
waste food to draw attention?
that does not seem like a reasonable excuse.
don't forget, for every 6 humans alive, 1 lives without adequate food and water
