Last time I'm saying this, so everybody listen up! DSiWare games from the Nintendo DSi Shop are available on the Nintendo 3DS's Nintendo eShop. If you already own this on DSi then you can transfer it to the 3DS with a specialized app.

I can't tell but are you getting all the Electoons cages? Because the DSiware version of this game on My 3DS is pretty much the only version of Rayman 1 I legally own (I say legally because I do have the GBA version downloaded as a ROM to play on the Visual Boy Advance emulator, but I would prefer to say I beat it the right way) and I know you can't beat the game or reach the final fight unless you find all the cages, and if I looked at the video correctly as I skipped ahead *2bcont.*

*Continued* and if I looked at the video correctly as I skipped ahead you didn't get every cage in the very first stage, well I mean there was no pink happy face to show the level had been completed 100%, I would just like to skip ahead to the parts where the Electoons cages are revealed since I've played far into the game but have been sort of dodgy and hit and miss throughout the game with the cages. And I don't know which walkthrough to check for cage reveals since I don't know *2bcont.*

You can only get this game through the Nintendo DSi Shop on DSis and DSi XLs and the Nintendo eShop for 3DSs. Both shops requires internet to access.

Is it identical to the PS1 version (not the sgitty GBA version) if so i'ma deffinatly gonna have to buy it, nastalgic reasons, is all the music the same?

It is a mixture of the PS1, GBA. and PC versions. The opening of the game has the GBA opening and GBA cheats work. The game graphic-wise is the PS1 version. The game has some of the changes that the PC version had in some of the levels. The game overall is mostly the PS1 version. All the music is the same quality as non-GBA versions and some songs were left. I do recommend it though.

on pink plant... i can't seem to find the 6th cage... the map indicates i only found 5, yet i think I slamed all 6, shouldnt the medalian turn pink when all 6 are found?

It is specifically limited to the Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, and Nintendo 3DS handhelds only. Not Nintendo DS or DS Lite.

If you're referring to the DS remake of Rayman 2 then yes. All DS games are compatible with the Nintendo DSi, DSi XL, and 3DS platforms.

No, the camera isn't required in order to start from a checkpoint. It automatically takes a photo of you when the Photographer in the game takes your picture. It's just an extra thing they added in the DSi version.

@rajai98 its called Rayman Advance its diffrent than Rayman for the PS1 Rayman Advance is like Rayman for the pc the cages are in diffrent spots,sounds are way diffirent, Rayman Advance has some messed up music, and gives you diffrent health and its mean how Rayman for the PS1 gives you 5 health, Gba 6, DSI 12 (I think)

Yes, you use the R Button for the grimace (thing where Rayman makes a face with his tongue sticking out that scares some enemies)

So basically this is Rayman but horribly unbalanced? Watching through these, I've noticed the doubled HP, the bottom screen showing a large part of the level and revealing secrets, bonus lives that were virtually impossible to reach being handed to you, certain notoriously tricky moments altered to make them easier, boss attacks that can't be dodged, awfully unfitting music order, and the PC version's level replacements that, IIRC, most players didn't like. :(

... not to mention the drastically reduced recovery time, shaky graphic compromises, and annoyingly altered sounds and colors. I know it's a handheld, but still... IMO, even Rayman Advance did this better. Sorry to the fans, but it just doesn't seem to me like players will be getting what they deserve...

Not sarcastic. I'm not saying I dislike the music, I'm saying the reordering of the music and missing songs don't seem to work. I don't think I mentioned lag...

And I do think Advance was better simply for being truer to the original game. It's missing a level or two, and it's missing a lot of the soundtrack (Though it interestingly added a pleasant new song...), but the gameplay seems nearly identical to the other versions.

Look, there's no logic in calling people "sony fanboys" when the PS1 version genuinely looked better. It had some impressive transparencies and other things. Personally, i could take any of the original CD versions of the game and not care either way, but the ps1 game did tend to look better. Just saying.

This version looks almost the same as the classics, except they used the GBA version's crappy intro. No matter though, game is the same.

From a rayman site : jaguar was the original game, the pc and psx version were simple port of the jaguar version with loading screens.

The saturn port was the best rayman game: improved colors and backgrounds, better sounds , faster than psx for loadings etc...

Try searching a saturn video to compare.

It plays exactly the same. But the Presto Sliders are back and your friend and Moskito share the same palette. And the tracks play different on different levels due to lack of redbook audio glitch.
