Is there a way to make the space jump work consistently? It only works when it feels like it in my case :O.

The metroids seen there in maridia aren't real metroids silly kitty. They are called mochtroids or something like that. They are like prototypes. The ones where Mother Brain is are more cloned metroids from teh little cute metroid of ceres. That answer your question?
