i felt that Meryl and Charlie beat Tessa and Scott because they had more contents and continuous changes in dance hold and positions as well as stronger technical elements than V/M, however, i disagree with their five point lead! I felt that Meryl and Charlie held back in their SD. I noticed that they had stiffer backs and their hips were not undulating out as much as what you'll find with latin ballroom (or V/M). I know i'm being critical but their FD makes up for their SD by far!!!!
@nolaughingmatter I agree. I love these commentators but that is my problem with them as well. I love this SD and I don't understand how no one sees "Latin" in it. It's majority samba. Just because they aren't rubbing all over each other like Tessa & Scott doesn't mean it's not "Latin." I like Tessa & Scott but I think Meryl & Charlie have the stronger programs this season. And I think Meryl & Charlie don't get their due justice a lot of the time because of them.
Chris and Simon seem to favor Virtue and Moir over Davis and White. I can't find any faults with Meryl&Charlie, but Chris and Simon always find flaws that are subjectively perceived. I thought this program was as "Latin" as can be. The only time they did long one-arm holds was during the pattern as it should be! Chris and Simon always think V&M are better even when they're not, i.e. Worlds 2011 LP. Chris and SImon are the best commentators out there, but their bias against D&W needs cleaning up.
Lots to admire in this dance... Contrary to the commentary, the mood of the dance is right on. Like the active role that Charlie plays in this dance, specifically the fact that he gives the poses associated with latin dance a masculine edge. Not easy with all the hip and arm movements. They've done it again with the footwork. It is difficult (as always), but more importantly it is constructed out of some quintessential latin motifs. Great work.
I don't see where they were out of sync on the twirled at all and I think this dance actually shows more connection and chemistry between them than we've seen in a long time. They're having fun out there. I think the score was spot on. Thanks for uploading for us!
Yes, Nicky & Chris alway right on - much to admire in these two - just fabulous; however, their programs always have a frantic and rushed feel to them -- as though Charlie can't wait to get off the dance floor! (ice). No chemistry between them, but they are very good technicians - out of synch on twizzles. Overmarked, but the judges seem to be giving them inflated marks this year. Hmm -- makes one wonder ...

I don't think this program deserved to obtain 76 points...

They make me want to party it up at the club. Both V/M and D/W should get gold. They're both too awesome.

I hate this music. They skated it very well, but their patterns are so small. I would not have given this 5pts above V&M.

@bbkenn92 It's because DW got all level 4's where VM got some level 3's like on the rhumba for instance plus Scott fell -
