You must realize Ataturk did not initiate an internal revolt. He basically started an uprising when the Sevres Agreement was signed, which had relinquished control of many of Ottoman Empires strategic points. So the downfall of Ottoman Empire cannot be directly associated with the rise of the Turkish Republic.
