Ratchet and Clank is appreciated in Japan. According to the Insomniac Podcast (and the localization guy talking about it), when a new game comes out, they get full page spreads in Fumitsu (sp?) and usually only big titles get that.

Also, the translation guy has to add back story because the Japanese are use to it. The conversation is in episode 24 of the podcast.

i played the first mercenaries on ps2 and i, personally, thought is was great. there was a lot of times when it was pointless destruction and you didn't know what you were doing, but once your on the right track its a good game.
