Ever Heard of Robin Frost? That would be sweet if someone could play his piano rolls on one of these player pianos! Frost is a contemporary composer of stride, ragtime and novelty piano. I'd like to hear his "Long And Gentle." That's an excellent solo.
Really a marvelous video and your willingness to put it here is so much appreciated. Most of us would never have seen or heard this otherwise. Got any more?
I used to have a 78 recording of this sung by Ruth Etting. Then one day it got smashed. Boy was I feelin' blue. But now I can listen to your wonderful player-piano rendition! Thanks
Enjoying this piece of music and I like the tempo the way you are playing it. Thanks for sharing it with us. Please put more on and keep them peppy. Thanks again,
I agree, I like this tempo. Gives the performance a bit of extra "snap". I wouldn't doubt that many of the better pianists of the day could play this speed too.
Tempo sounds pretty nice to me- some of those old performers were pretty fleet fingered, and the dances were nimble. Maybe a tick or two slower, but not much would do it.
I havent seen a grand in real life before like yours the only one i saw did not work it was very up setting almost baught it for 11 hundred but we couldnmt afford the refurbishing which wasnty expensive only 6-8k you have an exeptional instrament and my 62 hardman duo is put to shame by it :) even though mines still great lol
Would be much better if you got the piano tuned it is awful

would sound better and more life like if you would slow it down a bit, correct speed is stated on the roll

Great stomping novelty arrangement, very snappy! I might want to transcribe this!
